Job Description
PSA - General sales department experience, strong customer service skills:
The Pharmacy Solutions Advisor (PSA inside sales) will sell and promote specialty pharmacy services to establish a strong network between Axium and various pharmaceutical manufacturer representatives and other health care providers. PSA will represent Axium Healthcare Pharmacy as a key point of contact to physicians within a designated region to ensure operational consistency for medical offices regarding patient processing. This position requires focus on outbound calling, proactive planning, tracking and coordination of sales efforts with assigned Business Development Manager (BDM) and/or Pharmacy Solutions Consultant (PSC- outside sales).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Partner
and coordinate strategic relationships with the BDM's and PSC's to achieve
territory goals as a cohesive team.
Maintain
and track territory performance: Referrals/Admits/Non-Admits with all
pertinent demographic information to support metric reporting.
Call
on medical offices, hospitals, clinics and other referral sources in an
effort to develop and secure specialty pharmacy prescription referrals. Required: The equivalent of 45
documented calls/contact attempts to including email contact per day
(considering customer preference).
Document
all Contact Activity in Axium CRM program
Manage
assigned territory by applying a workflow to include daily/weekly/monthly
objectives through call routing schedule.
Properly
cultivate MDO accounts while fully understanding and accurately promoting
Axium's service model.
Achieve
monthly revenue and admit goals.
Promote
and represent Axium in a professional manner at all times.
Conduct
an overall “Needs Assessment” on all new referrals to Axium.
Serve
as the key point of contact between Axium and Physician offices.
Place
outbound calls and send faxes to Physician offices regarding patient
status of authorization, patient assistance, shipment status, indigent
status and transfers to other pharmacies.
Contact
physician offices for prescriptions, lab work, and/or clinical information
that will assist with authorization approval as required by plan.
Troubleshoot
and facilitate appropriate actions on patient orders with operations team
members as needed and in the appropriate manner.
Communicate
effectively among management and physician contacts in an effort to offer an
exceptional experience for all clients/customers of Axium.
Possess
excellent customer service skills, demonstrating these skills daily.
Complete

Previous

Job Summary
The Pharmacist works in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy and according to standard procedure compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies up receiving written prescriptions from the physician. Participates on Performance Improvement plans within the hospital. Consults with and advises Administration, Medical Staff and hospital staff on quality, regulatory and risk issues within the organization. Supports and serves as consultant to all clinical and Medical Staff. Assists the Director in coordinating and implementing the activities of the Pharmacy. Interprets medication orders, compounds and dispenses medication and other pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with the legal, ethical and professional standards of pharmacy practice. Supervises the technical support staff. Assists with clinical, quality management and education programs. Provides support for all departments with respect to the care of all patients aged 18 through the geriatric population ages 65 and older.
Essential Functions
* Participates in the maintenance and dissemination of drug information through in-service education of hospital personnel, consultation with patients, hospital and medical staff.
* Actively assists other Pharmacists and Technicians in the discharge of routine duties as necessary. Directs activities of and provides professional and technical guidance to Pharmacy personnel.
* Exercises professional judgment in imparting therapeutic and drug information to patients and health professionals.
* Is competent in the range of treatment needed by the following patients as appropriate to the ages served by the hospital: Adult and Geriatric.
* Capable of entering a minimum of 40 orders per four-hour shift.
* Generates required reports; Pick I.V., Production reports. Performs Backup Procedures correctly.
* Assists Technicians in performing technical tasks. Maintains aseptic techniques. Recycles product as appropriately.
* Checks technician prepared products prior to release. Ensures Technician maintains I.V. refrigerator temperature and hood cleaning logs.
* Fills orders with correct medication. Checks support staff accuracy prior to medication release.
* Prioritizes work to prepare STAT, Now and Waiting in order of importance. Follows through on fill on arrival orders.
* Reviews patient profile to ensure appropriate and safe drug therapy. No therapeutic duplication. Prevents significant drug interaction. Prevents avoidable ADR secondary to allergies. Medication ordered is appropriate for patient height, weight, age, renal function and disease state. Must have knowledge of patient population served.
* Pharmacokinetics Dosing Service: Ensures Apriority dosing is appropriate. Interprets levels appropriately. Modifies doses appropriately. Writes progress notes per protocol. Dates times and initials all vials for reuse.
* Capable of calculating fluid, electrolyte and calories needs. Monitors patient appropriateness for formulation. Clarifies controversial orders with physician.
* Keeps current on new drugs. Adds additive in the proper sequence. Syringe and Vial counts reflect what has been made. Labels containers accurately including auxiliary labels. Completes packages including seals, protective wraps, etc.
* Maintains security of Pharmacy. Maintains security of controlled substances. Informs staff of pending problems, physical call back, etc.
* Fills orders with correct medications. Prepares unit of use dosage when possible. Keeps Director informed of workload status. Prioritizes work to prepare Stat, now and waiting in order of importance. Follows through on fill on arrival orders. Returns
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
* Basic understanding of the role and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders with minimum word processing skills.
* Self-motivated, self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to organize meetings and inspections.
* Must read, write and speak fluent English.

Education

Job Summary:
Acuity is looking for a Pharmacist to support our contract in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Pharmacist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
Fills prescriptions, verifying instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to be given.
Checks for patient drug contraindications.
Responsible for verifying the dosage regimen for accuracy and specified amount is within the standard dosing range and frequency.
Compounds and dispenses medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
Ensures prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner.
Provides medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
Participates in medical care conferences as directed by the CMO.

Maintains adequate stock levels of medications that are high-use (utilization-based) to include key medications for unforeseen events such as outbreaks. (Influenza as an example).

Oversees the work of pharmacy technicians.
Performs administrative functions such as answering phones and stocking shelves.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:
Requires a graduate degree from an accredited Pharmacy School approved by a state board of Pharmacy or accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Pharmacist License free from any pending adverse actions and the ability to be favorably credentialed by Acuity policy.
Minimum of five years of experience as a registered practicing pharmacist.
All Healthcare Providers and medical support staff must have a recent clinical experience in patient care for a least 6 months out of the past year.
Experience in both Hospital and Ambulatory Pharmacy, and expertise in both outpatient and inpatient drug therapies.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
Proficiency with computers and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment.
Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
Must have a valid U.S. passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
