Overview Clinical pharmacy interns are persons skilled in the practical and mechanical aspects of the profession of pharmacy, and who are enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy actively pursuing the PharmD degree. The clinical pharmacy intern position requires a high level of function in specific skills and knowledge. Increasing involvement of pharmacists with patient care activities has increased the need for trained and qualified pharmacy interns who are able to assume the more clinical roles in pharmacies. Clinical pharmacy interns assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department.
