What's this role all about?
As a 10 hour Inpatient Oncology Pharmacist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, you'll be an integral part of the patient care team, focusing on BMT/Cellular Therapy and care of adult hematology and medical oncology cancer patients. Your responsibilities will include:
Patient Care: Providing comprehensive care for patients with various cancer-related disease states, including hematologic and solid tumors, bone marrow transplants (BMT), CAR-T, and TIL therapies.
Order Review and Verification: Reviewing and verifying chemotherapy orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
Patient Education: Delivering patient education to inform patients about their treatments and care plans.
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring: Monitoring therapeutic drugs to optimize drug therapy and improve patient outcomes.
Guideline Development: Participating in oncology disease-related groups to support guideline development, updates, and new drug monographs.
Drug Information: Providing accurate drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.

Screens prescriptions and medication orders for completeness, proper authorization, dosage and quantity, therapeutic compatibility, drug interactions, and allergies; and clarifies possible problems with appropriate medical staff.
Monitors the condition of patients through observation of physical or laboratory reactions to drug therapy and reports findings to attending physician, suggesting changes in drug therapy as indicated; may be assigned to the ongoing management of chronic disease patients, subject to periodic review of medical staff.
Supervises or performs the preparation of drug labels and the affixing of labels to the proper containers; ensures the inclusion of appropriate directions for the timing, methods, and precautions to be observed in taking the medication; personally instructs patients in the use of medications when indicated.
Takes drug histories and participates as drug consultant with the medical staff and patients in the selection of drug therapy for individual patients, including choice of medications, dosage, strength, frequency and method of administration.
Provides technical supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and Intern Pharmacists in the prepacking of pharmaceuticals.
Develops, maintains, and supervises the operation of drug distribution systems including the maintenance of appropriate controls; notes and reports quality deficiencies of drug products; and, ensures that pharmaceuticals are properly ordered, stored, kept up-to-date, and protected from deterioration.
Selects, compounds, and dispenses drugs and other pharmaceutical products ordered by physicians, dentists, and other licensed medical practitioners, including the calculation and preparation of solutions for oral, external, intramuscular, and intravenous administration.
Utilizes pharmacy and other medication-related computerized information systems.
Provides replenishment of drugs along with support and maintenance of pharmacy automation to ensure proper functioning and operation.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

Report product incidents as required in accordance with pharmacy policy.
Supervise the activities of pharmacy technicians and other department personnel.
Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all job-related interactions.
Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
Participate in membership activities of professional and industry organizations.
Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and license requirements.

Job Summary
Through effective leadership and coordination with a team of direct reports, the primary purpose of the Pharmacist II, Nuclear is to manage, facilitate, and oversee execution of day-to-day operations of the nuclear pharmacy. The Pharmacist II, Nuclear has completed all necessary training and is licensed to be a practicing nuclear pharmacist in their state of occupation. As such, this job has responsibility for optimizing pharmacy operations and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, maximize customer satisfaction and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. Shift/Schedule

Responsibilities

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

* Working knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures
* Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals

* Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects
* Demonstrated manual dexterity in order to dispense doses
* Ability to lift containers weighing up to 55 pounds
