Schedule: PRN; 16-32 hours per month Summary: The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to Hunter Health Clinic (HHC) patients by dispensing pharmaceuticals, providing clinical consultations, and counseling patients on medications. This position also monitors quality assurance and inventory controls. The Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager while providing quality patient support to all HHC patients while maintaining compliance with all federal laws (including 340B regulations), grants, HRSA, HIPAA, Kansas Board of Pharmacy, and HHC policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Assists the Pharmacy Manager in oversight of the on-site pharmacy functions, including pharmacy systems and processes. Assists in supervising and training technicians and other pharmacy staff. Fills prescriptions and educates patients in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Collaborates with other departments including physicians, nurses, and other providers. Maintains current knowledge of compliance with 340B program requirements and monitors pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all 340B laws and rules. Reviews patients medication orders and drug profiles to assure appropriate medication utilization and to optimize drug regimens. Participates in compliance monitoring and medication therapy management services and other initiatives as requested by leadership. Assists in the safe procurement, storage, accounting, preparation, labeling, distribution, and control of all pharmaceuticals. Ensures appropriate billing and general profitability. Processes requests accurately for third party payors and clinic programs for eligible patients and resolves third party payor rejections. Assists the Pharmacy Manager in implementing and monitoring action plans to ensure results, quality, and compliance. Addresses patient complaints in a respectful and professional manner. Maintains accurate pharmacy records in accordance with state and federal law. Travels when necessary to meet operational needs. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school with a PharmD degree is required. Current licensure and in good-standing as a pharmacist in the state of Kansas is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, within 30 days of hire. Immunization Certificate is preferred. 1 or more years of experience in a retail pharmacy is preferred, with 340B pharmacy and community health center experience is a plus.
