The Pharmacy Intern will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.
How you will make an impact:
* Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow tool
* Participates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow tool
* Assists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization space
* Verifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists.
* Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.
* Processes prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
Minimum requirements:
* Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internship
* Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university.
* A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
* 1st year PharmD students are preferred.
* Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferred
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsible for assisting with Noble Health Services operations and profitability
Follow all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy
Responsible for clinical and operational support of Noble Health Services Clinical and Patient Management Programs
Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines
Oversight of clinical decision making and accountability to the organization for those decisions
Responsible for patient drug utilization reviews and analysis
Responsible for adverse event reporting
Responsible for suggesting appropriate alternative therapies when warranted
Responsible for assisting to ensure that our clinical management program is compliant with the most current standards set by our accreditation bodies
Ensure compliance with all Noble policies and procedures at all times
Monitors all pharmacy claims for proper reimbursement
Assist in managing the pharmacy inventory.
Assist in ensuring all records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines
Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to New York State and all other states that prescriptions are dispensed and delivered to
Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information
Assist in the training and development of clinical and pharmacy department personnel
Participate in Quality Management Committee as required
Obtain and maintain required licensure in home state and other states as required
Serve as the responsible licensed pharmacist in other states as required
Responsible for keeping current with state/federal regulatory changes and business trends within the industry
Responsible for periodic consultation with practitioners in the field
Responsible for meeting the on-call requirement of position
Responsible for meeting the scheduling requirements of the position
Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed
Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times
Ensure all Loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Current unrestricted Pharmacist license in pharmacy location state
Obtain and maintain other states licenses as required
Experience Preferred:
Preferred: 2-3 Years of practice in a specialty pharmacy setting
2-3 Years of experience in a managed care setting
3-5 Years of practice in a traditional retail setting performing MTM's
Compensation
$130,000-135,200.00 per year.
The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience, and education.

-Maintain accurate and complete records for controlled substances, temperature logs,

-Oversee compliance with USP standards when applicable.
-Stay current with changes to 340B regulations, and covered entity requirements.
-Maintain adherence to approved company policies and procedures in compliance with
state and federal guidelines.
-Ensure accurate third-party billing, resolution of rejections, and compliance with
Medicaid carve-in/carve-out policies.
-Work closely with the Pharmacy manager to assist with purchasing, inventory returns,
shrinkage control, and cost-effective procurement using 340B, and WAC accounts.
-Ensure ethical and secure handling of controlled substances and 340B inventory.
-Assist Pharmacy Manager with maintenance of the physical security of the pharmacy,
including alarms, safes, cameras, and secure storage.
-Assist other pharmacy staff regarding emergency procedures and hazardous drug
handling.
-Provide excellent patient service, resolve escalated concerns, and promote health equity
aligned with FQHC mission.
-Educate patients on affordable medication access programs, including 340B pricing
options when appropriate.
-Build strong relationships with pharmacy staff and provide guidance and mentorship as
needed.
Requirements:
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
-College degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
-Must have and maintain a current license from the State Board of Pharmacy.
-Previous pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge:
-Thorough knowledge and application of the state and federal laws that govern
the use of prescriptions and controlled substances.
-Working knowledge of the 340B drug program and how it relates to patients who
