The Allied Health School (AHS) Pharm Tech Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in various allied health fields. This role involves the development of educational programs that accounts for diverse learning styles aligned with student demographics and learning methods, revising the curriculum to align with current industry standards ensures course curriculum aligns with accreditation standards and ensures academic excellence and professional readiness in the dynamic healthcare landscape. The AHS Pharm Tech Educator is responsible for ensuring the delivery and teaching of the material as well as maintaining administrative components of education system including grading, reviewing polices & creating testing standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Formulates and revises orientation manuals, course materials, lectures, and tests to ensure curriculum incorporates evidence based practices and meets accreditation and standards as well as medical center expectations. Implements and reviews program policies and procedures in partnership with the AHS Program Director.
Independently develops and teaches introductory and core courses in their area of specialization. Responsible for developing courses for online instruction and multiple technologies while supporting a diverse population of learning needs. Develops learning modules, hands on activities, assessments and multimedia content that address various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.). Continually assess the effectiveness of instructional methods and adjusts as needed.
Advises and teaches students, leads lab skill demonstrations, practice and testing of students. Provides guidance and support to students to ensure they meet learning objectives and are prepared for professional certification.
Responsible for the planning and oversight of student clinical rotations across CSMC affiliate locations and periodically evaluates the quality, contribution and appropriateness of all clinical preceptors participating in clinical instruction. Directs and advises students on developing research and advancing knowledge in their field of specialty through in-person teaching and training. Maintains ongoing communication with medical center staff as to clinical schedules and status of student experience.
Serves on educational committees and participates in the broader development of the Allied Health School and disciplinary committees.
Responsible for the organization, administration, review & maintenance of performance and educational records on all students within the AHS clinical program.
In collaboration with the AHS Program Director may assists with recruiting new students, screening applications, and interviewing potential students for the training program.
Performs other education or technical related duties as assigned by the AHS Pharm Tech Program Director or the clinical or technical department leadership team.
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining skills in Preparing compounded sterile and/or non-sterile products according to P&P and SOPs, which include aseptic technique, if applicable: garbing, label preparation, control records/master formulation record and other record-keeping requirements, storage, handling, and waste management, transport, visual inspection, area and equipment cleaning and maintenance, proper beyond use dating labeling, documents quality control/assurance activities, and complete required recertifications.
Appropriately receives ordered medications and supplies. Assures items received have a verifiable EPIC scannable barcode prior to placing in stock. Ensures received items are reconciled with packing slips and that stat orders, satellite orders and Pyxis orders are filled accurately and timely.
Responsible for maintaining skills in Performing labeling, packaging, obtaining medication and getting it ready for distribution and utilizes dispense prep to accurately prepare doses as required.
Responsible for maintaining skills in performing controlled substance management accurately and according to regulation and accurately documents preparation on investigational drug product log sheets, if applicable.
Acts as a liaison in medication-related problem solving for patient care units, including but not limited to narcotic discrepancies, automated dispensing cabinet/cart discrepancies and drug storage issues.
Actively identifies methods and approaches to simplify work processes, decrease medication waste, and increase the quality of services provided.
Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff including pharmacy technician externs.

About the Job:
Title of the Position: Compounding Pharmacist (Full Time)
The Compounding Pharmacist at Nivagen will be responsible for leading the 503B outsourcing facility, ensuring adherence to compounding standards and regulatory compliance. This role is pivotal in meeting manufacturing and company goals by overseeing the successful operations of a fully compliant department. Key responsibilities include maintaining facility and equipment standards, ensuring safety, upholding product quality, optimizing manufacturing efficiency, and managing quality systems in line with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
Work with Production Lead to achieve daily compounding output goals
Design weekly production schedule with Production Lead
Assign technician roles for the week (i.e. Mixer, Filler, Assistant, etc.)
Direct techs to a particular task to maintain production flow
Complete Batch records
Supervise compounding activities
Perform Mixer, Filler, Assistant, or any technician duties as needed

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
A minimum of two to three years of experience in a compounding pharmacy or a 503B outsourcing facility, or equivalent experience in related fields, is required

Understanding and experience in USP 797 guidelines and manual aseptic manipulations

Job Summary

The Pharmacist II, Nuclear has completed all necessary training and is licensed to be a practicing nuclear pharmacist in their state of occupation. This is usually divided into two sections: 200 hours of formal course work and 500 hours of supervised experience. For current pharmacists, the requirements are the same plus a preceptor statement of training from an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist.

They will participate in distribution of medications to patients as well as educate them on their medications. She/he will dispense floor stock controlled substances and maintain inventory records. The Pharmacist will respond to emergency needs of the department at any time when called upon by the Director or designee. They will advise the Director of malfunctioning equipment, maintenance problems, and any unusual situations, occurrences, conditions, reactions, or effects including those related to drugs, drug requests, usage or security. Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.
**_Job Summary_**
Through effective leadership and coordination with a team of direct reports, the primary purpose of the Pharmacist II, Nuclear is to manage, facilitate, and oversee execution of day-to-day operations of the nuclear pharmacy. The Pharmacist II, Nuclear has completed all necessary training and is licensed to be a practicing nuclear pharmacist in their state of occupation. As such, this job has responsibility for optimizing pharmacy operations and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, maximize customer satisfaction and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. **_Schedule_**
+ 40 hours per week
+ Rotating day and night shifts depending on business needs. Typical shifts start at 11:30pm, 5:30am, 6:30am, 7:30am, and 9am.

**_Responsibilities_**
+ Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist, including compounding of nuclear medications, testing for quality through chromatography, and directing distribution of medication using a team of drivers.
+ Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and executes necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs, identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks, when necessary.
+ Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
+ Manages and directs internal workflows of nuclear pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
+ Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the nuclear pharmacy business.
+ Maintains relationships with outside suppliers and vendors to understand availability of drug components and assist in demand planning.

**_Qualifications_**
+ Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and/or PharmD preferred
+ Valid Pharmacist's license in the state in which the pharmacy operates or the ability to obtain
+ Must complete at least 200 hours of academic training in a nuclear pharmacy through an accredited program.
+ Working knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures preferred
+ Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals

+ Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects

+ Prior Authorized User certification is preferred. Nuclear Pharmacy Training can be provided.
+ **Authorized User:** As defined in part by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, an individual who has completed a minimum of 700 hours of training in a structured educational program consisting of both didactic training and supervised on the job training in radiation physics, instrumentation, radiation protection, chemistry, math and radiation biology. This is usually divided into two sections: 200 hours of formal course work and 500 hours of supervised experience. For current pharmacists, the requirements are the same plus a preceptor statement of training from an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist.
