Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow and improves pharmacy financials, manages inventory effectively, and enhances patient experience. Manages pharmacy staff performance and engagement. Ensures the professional development of pharmacy staff by overseeing training, focused coaching, and executing formal performance management initiatives. Job Responsibilities: Patient Experience Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience. Refers to the medical provider, as needed, to ensure medication is taken correctly, health needs are addressed, and patient is satisfied with service. Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications, as required. Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies and standards. Establishes procedures that promote the efficient workflow of the pharmacy including overseeing staff scheduling, assigning roles, coordinating activities, and soliciting team member suggestions. Responsible for opening and closing the pharmacy and shift changes. Ensures the use of all elements of the Good Faith Dispensing policy in conjunction with state and federal controlled substance laws when filling prescriptions. The Product Review/Retail Fill Process Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that elements of Good Faith are present. Collaborates with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities. Maintains information technology knowledge of pharmacy systems including workflow, prescription fulfillment, billing, clinical documentation, training, inventory management, and point of sale registers. Supports pharmacy staff and patients with information technology. Finds opportunities to improve productivity Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately to prevent payment rejections. Resolves patient issues by working with insurance companies and medical providers and conducting or participating in third party audits. Partners with Store Manager to establish expectations and goals, promote teamwork and foster a shared vision. Monitors and recognizes improvements in pharmacy staff by implementing rewards programs. Manages pharmacy staff performance by overseeing the training of pharmacy staff (e.g., using the correct processes and tools) and conducting formal performance reviews. Identifies high potential team members and proactively collaborates with Store Manager to manage career progression. Addresses employee relations concerns. Maintains team member morale by checking on employee welfare, addressing complaints and conflicts, and ensuring positive employee management relationship. Training & Personal Development Maintains required licensing/credentialing/certification as established by federal and state regulations to provide clinical services. Maintains and enhances current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare by reading pharmacy related journals and Walgreens publications and communications. Maintains awareness of developments in retail and management areas and pursues best practices to enhance business acumen and pharmacy performance. What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Job Summary Through effective leadership and coordination with a team of direct reports, the primary purpose of the Pharmacist II, Nuclear is to manage, facilitate, and oversee execution of day-to-day operations of the nuclear pharmacy. The Pharmacist II, Nuclear has completed all necessary training and is licensed to be a practicing nuclear pharmacist in their state of occupation. As such, this job has responsibility for optimizing pharmacy operations and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, maximize customer satisfaction and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. The Clinical Services Director provides unbiased information and strategic guidance to Provider Solutions customers and internal stakeholders. This role drives customer profitability by demonstrating the value of McKesson clinical and business tools, supporting physician practices with clinical, operational, and pharmacoeconomic insights, and developing clinical tools and content focused on oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, and ophthalmology. The director also leads internal and customer projects leveraging advanced clinical knowledge and provider segment expertise. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to optimize drug use initiatives in collaboration with Provider Solutions leadership, GPO teams, and Onmark customers. Serve as a clinical advisor to practices, providing: Drug information (indications, administration, stability, pipeline updates). Operational best practices (workflow optimization, biosimilar implementation, staffing). Regulatory guidance (e.g., USP 800 compliance, SOPs, training). Lead and collaborate on customer-specific projects to improve practice profitability. Present pharmacoeconomic data and therapeutic interchange opportunities using analytics tools. Conduct quarterly clinical business reviews and analyze drug economics/trends to support strategy. Support sales teams by: Training on clinical tools and services. Identifying target practices and tailoring approaches. Assisting with business development and prospect conversations. Act as an internal subject matter expert for oncology and multispecialty provider topics; deliver training across the enterprise. Provide feedback on clinical programs, tools, and services; recommend improvements and new development opportunities. Develop and maintain clinical content and tools (e.g., drug info sheets, comparison charts, SOP templates, benchmarking tools). Represent McKesson at conferences and author expert articles. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements PharmD or equivalent (Board Certification preferred); MBA or advanced degree preferred. Active pharmacist license. 7+ years of oncology or specialty pharmacy experience (management preferred); oral dispensing knowledge a plus. Able to travel up to 50% at times Critical Skills Expertise in community oncology and multispecialty practices, payer/regulatory compliance, and influencing physician decisions. Proven ability to manage diverse projects, analyze pharmacoeconomic data, and maintain remote relationships. Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
