    The Production Support Technician (PST) provides assistance to the production team by performing various production tasks as well as maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. This function is critical to increasing production uptime and reducing downtime by assisting with live jobs in various work centers, maintaining supplies and consumables, and ensuring a sanitary and organized work environment in the plant. Essential Functions: Assisting with jobs at press: Loading stock on the press unwinds. This includes the press, butt splicer, and laminate tower. Install/Remove pre mounted plates in press. Install/Remove dies and other tooling in press. Assist in maintaining supply levels: Notify warehouse when stock is needed at press and when materials need to be returned to warehouse. Notify ink technician when inks are needed at press and to be returned to ink department. Maintain all consumable supplies at press. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility by: Cleaning, reassembling, and returning ink pans, aniloxes, doctor blade chambers, etc. to the presses. Returning stock and tools to designate return areas. Empty all trash receptacles. Cleaning of the shop floor, printing presses, rewind machines, and any other components inside or outside Phenix as needed. Skills and Experience Required: Assist in select finishing related tasks as need: assisting in off line finishing process (i.e. shrink wrapping, kitting and fan folding), boxing finished product from finishers into a box. Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills. Individual must be able to complete any reasonable request of management necessary to effectively operate the department/company. Individual must be able to interact effectively with supervisors and peers. Individual must be able to perform general physical activities: Handling and moving objects Apply cleaning solvents Clean or wax floors Clean rooms or work areas Use portable hand spray equipment Participation and support of 5S initiatives and activities. High school diploma / GED / or equivalent. Individual should possess basic math and computer skills. English language required. Physical and Other Requirements: This job is performed indoors in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Job tasks are performed in close proximity to other people and include exposure to strobe lights, sounds and noise levels that could be distracting. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend or crouch. The employee must frequently stand, walk, talk, and occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include ability to hear alarms and other sensors in a factory environment. Requires use of hands to handle, control or feel objects and operate tools and controls. Examines specifications and validates material, tooling and processes in order to produce products conforming to the customer requirements. Confers with department heads, research and development and production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various elements and determine factors that affect performance. Compiles and analyzes feedback from multiple departments to maintain current & accurate specifications. Essential Functions: Maintains product specifications utilizing the print management system. Maintains detailed technical knowledge of Phenix Label Company's manufacturing capabilities and constantly increases knowledge on the changes and advances of the label and packaging industries. Maintains an understanding of flexographic and digital printing, processes, tools, services and materials to ensure accurate and current product specifications. Analyzes recommendations for changes to product specifications, and documents valid changes as necessary. Verifies appropriate QC checks are identified for each specification based on product type, print process, and any customer requirements. Communicates product changes throughout the manufacturing process. Performs on a cross-functional team with the Estimator to generate RFQ's along with providing backup as necessary. Completes any reasonable request by management necessary to effectively operate the department/company. Suggests improvements to procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs. Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures. Skills and Experience Required: Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills. Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of settings, possessing strong communication skills, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The work model for the role is remote (#LI-Remote) You will be mainly accountable for: * Plans project on-site activities with Project Manager including necessary local resources, equipment and milestones. * Coordinates agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy. * Responsible, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, for coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. * Serves as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities. * Ensures detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the ABB H&S plan. * Ensures all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project. * Empowered to suspend any activities on site (be it by ABB personnel or by subcontractors) in case of HSE violation and, if a situation arises, takes the necessary steps to ensure that ABB employees and other persons who may be present are not put at risk. * Ensures correct handling, storage and installation of ABB-delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material. * Manages the sub-contractors on site hired by ABB to ensure necessary quality and progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards. * Controls project cost for the project site work, monitors actual spend against forecasts, and estimates final cost for the same. Manages the petty cash and has delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits. * Ensures all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site. * Ensures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. * Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies. Coordinates local accommodation, site facilities, office equipment, etc. Qualifications for the role * BS Engineering, BS Management required. * 5+ Years Field service project experience with an electrical OEM, experience leading long term field assignments, and field quality assurance delivery focusing on procedures and implementation. * Ability to travel 80-100% of the time within North America and ability to be away from home for extended periods. * Strong understanding of site commissioning and oversight of engineered solutions including IEC61850 projects. * Ability to develop and implement test, start-up, and commissioning plans with third party Cx agents. * Experience leading start-up teams responsible for ABB and GE LV and MV electrical equipment, relays, and PRN networks preferred. * Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams of electrical field engineers and technicians as well as third party contractors preferred. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.     Platemaker Reports to: Operations Supervisor FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Operations The Platemaker is responsible for organizing, preparing and outputting Flexo plates to insure that all work centers in production have plates staged for the next scheduled job. This responsibility extends from the point that the final art file is released for plating to submission of plates to production. The Platemaker is to maintain direct and open communication with the Art, Customer Service and Production Departments in regard to the status of all working jobs. The Platemaker's function is vital to insure the uninterrupted workflow of the production schedule. Essential Functions: Processes plates from final art files submitted from the Production Artists. Pulls and verifies plates needed, for production runs, 24 hours before scheduled to print. Maintains a working relationship with our consumable vendors. Maintains an acceptable inventory of plate room consumables. Maintains an accurate written & computerized log of material entries. Maintains an accurate log of bench micrometer readings & makes periodic adjustments to plate room equipment based on the readings. Understands and follows proper safety procedures. Maintains a well-organized filing system for orders in process and completed orders. Coordinates and conducts regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration of all plate related equipment within the department. Maintains a neat, clean and well organized work area. Takes precautions to protect equipment, property and product against loss. Suggests improvements to plate procedures, and acts to improve quality, timeliness or reduce costs. Adheres to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program. Participation and support of 5S initiatives and activities. Provides back-up support for Make Ready, including operating precision equipment, examining plates and materials for conformance to specifications, using the production schedule to pre-stage press-ready jobs with dies, print cylinders, and ensuring continuous operation of press work centers Perform any additional responsibilities as directed by management. Skills and Experience Required: 1-2 years relevant experience in plate making or printing preferred. High school diploma / GED / or equivalent. Candidate should possess basic mathematical skills. Individual must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment. Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills. Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidate should be familiar with word processing and other basic computer skills. English language required. Physical and Other Requirements: This job is performed indoors in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.
