Compensation Range

The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.

Ensures alignment of audit activities with those of the external auditors, SOX 404 team, and various Company compliance functions/other assurance providers to ensure proper audit coverage, elimination of duplicate efforts, and the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities.

Coordinates and completes audit pre-planning and planning efforts prior to the assigned audit staff joining the engagement; facilitates a collaborative and team-based planning approach. Minimum Education

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative data enthusiast that will help lead the organization on a journey to enhance how we implement advanced analytics to enable data driven decisions in rail. If you are selected as the 3rd Mate, you will be working under the direction of the Master and Chief Mate. The 3rd Mate must have a good understanding of all deck machinery and cargo systems and be proficient at navigation and cargo watch keeping. The Sweeny Refinery is located in Old Ocean, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization, and aromatics units, as well as access to the on-site vacuum tower and delayed coking unit, which is an asset owned by Phillips 66 Partners. Sweeny processes heavy, high-sulfur crude oil and some light, low sulfur crude oil. Other products include petrochemical feedstocks, heating oil and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed throughout the Midcontinent region, southeastern and eastern United States by pipeline, barge and rail car. In addition to project work in your assigned area, you'll have opportunities to tour our facilities, learn from senior leaders, and engage with a wide range of experienced professionals and other students. We also host a variety of social events both on and off site to allow our interns and co-ops to engage further with their cohort, recent graduates, other professionals, and senior leaders across the organization.

Job Description:
The Market Risk Analyst position is responsible for monitoring trading activities for compliance with Market Risk Management policies and developing and maintaining tools for Global Trading activities. You will be responsible for independently identifying, measuring, and reporting trading gross margin, exposures, and the market risk of the portfolio of transactions that are executed and owned by the Commercial organization. You will work with a dynamic, global team in a high-visibility role that provides advice to the Commercial organization on risk appetite, risk limit utilization and market risk mitigation strategies, and risk assessments and insights to senior management.
Position responsibilities can include:
* Act as Market Risk focal point for front-office and senior stakeholders. Develop strong relationships with Commercial stakeholders and possess deep end-to-end understanding of Global Trading strategies, associated exposures and future growth aspirations for the trade desk supported.
* Understand supply and demand fundamentals, including regional/locational price differences, fundamental drivers of changes in these spreads, historical market direction and trends/underlying fundamental causes.
* Show a strong commitment to market risk management principles, including being proactive, transparent, and open to debate with Global Trading as necessary.
* Independently assess and advise on risk profiles from the trade to portfolio level (e.g., risk reward trade-off, optimization of constrained risk, liquidity, market fundamentals, and market sentiment sensitivities).

* Work closely (daily) with refinery coordinators and optimizers, product schedulers and crude traders. to validate production data and trades impacting inventory positions and generate hedging signals.
Qualifications:
Academic:

Required Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of experience in financial, energy or chemical risk management
* Strong knowledge of crude oil and freight markets, as well as other energy and traded markets
* Strong understanding of physical trading, derivatives, and financial products
* Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

As a reliability intern, you will help analyze failures of equipment, develop solutions for recurring equipment difficulties, submit Project Request Forms (PRF's) to implement solutions, and understand equipment maintenance strategies. There will be opportunities to use electrical analysis software to solve coordination issues and run Arc Flash studies for the power system, as well as learning and understanding about how our critical Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are applied.
Process Control / Technical Service Engineers can work on a wide array of projects in support of the process control systems installed throughout the refinery and products movements areas. The process control systems in the refinery provide real-time control and data acquisition functions in support of operating the refinery process and electrical equipment. Typical college co-op assignments include the following: troubleshooting system power supply problems, control system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement projects, installing and troubleshooting communication networks and monitoring control system performance metrics.

With a population of more than 77,000, Baytown, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, just east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. What role you will play in our team
The Analytical Manufacturing Chemist provides technical support and aids in problem solving to the operating units. The Analytical Manufacturing Chemist primarily interfaces with unit contact engineers and complex engineers on problem definition/resolutions through the development of robust analytical test plans, leveraging in-house lab capability and external capabilities when needed. The Analytical Manufacturing Chemist will be located in Baytown, TX and will manage the day-to-day business of the laboratory including, but not limited to, the following: interaction with manufacturing personnel and associated business support groups and providing technical guidance to a small group of technicians and specialists.

* Actively engages in the laboratory and site's safety program
* Serves as a communication pathway between business unit and laboratory
* Utilizes analytical capabilities to support refining and chemical operations in troubleshooting and improvement initiatives
* Maintains quality systems relating to data generation and customer satisfaction
* Provides technical leadership/support for and drive improvements in established test methods (e.g. ASTM, published, and company specifications) in the laboratory
* Develops new analytical test methods as directed/needed by the business
* Develops and maintains instrumentation and testing strategy
* Participates in global networks to share best practices and improve processes
About You
Skills and Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related fields, 5 or more years of experience in Analytical Sciences and Characterization preferred
* Advanced understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of analytical chemistry is required
* Excellent foundation in technical problem-solving skills to assist in troubleshooting for sample, method or equipment issues
* Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, relationship building, initiative, adaptable, positive attitude, and team building
* Highly self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Experience/background in one or more of the following techniques is preferred: Chemicals and refining processes and ASTM testing, Gas Chromatography, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, X-ray
* Florescence Spectroscopy (XRF), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), UV, or Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
* Experience in lab quality control and statistical techniques is desirable
* Industrial/Manufacturing lab experience in problem solving/troubleshooting manufacturing issues
* Experience with specialized lubes and fuels certification tests
