. This role is akin to being a Captain on a team in team sports, meaning, the Captain is also one of the players, and is in the game with their team. This role involves Stick and Tig Welding and Fabrication, with and without blueprints. This role also will be cross trained with our Hydro Blast team, undertaking in situ High Pressure (HP) Hydro Blasting and Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Hydro blasting utilizing patented Tube Tech robotics and equipment. Hiring Bonus: $1000 after successful completion of 120 days and an acceptable attendance record ABW is looking for intermediate and experienced aluminum and stainless steel TIG Fitter/Welders, who are motivated and take pride in producing quality fabricated parts and meeting or exceeding customer requirements and schedules. Fitter/Welder candidates must be able to read and understand shop drawings. They will be required to fit and weld components in accordance with weld procedures accounting for weld shrinkage with minimal supervision. All fit-up and welds are inspected by in-house and/or customer CWI's. ABW administers in-house testing and certification. In addition to welder qualification testing, Fitter/Welders will be evaluated on their ability to read and understand drawings, tolerances, and welding procedures. ASME pressure vessel / tank manufacturing experience preferred, familiarity with nozzle schedules, weld maps, flux core and submerged arc experience is beneficial. Pay rates are based on the number of welding processes and qualified positions that welders are certified for and dependent upon weld test results at time of interview. Benefits include health, dental, vision and voluntary benefits. 2 weeks of PTO per year to start. Day shift: Work four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 6 am-4:30 pm. Overtime as required. This role is responsible for fitting and welding piping and pressure vessels used in natural gas compression, ensuring high-quality welds, and supporting a safe, efficient, and organized fabrication environment. Requirements Key Responsibilities * Weld and fabricate pipe and pressure vessels in an industrial/fabrication environment in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. * Perform welding using processes such as SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW; interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and written specifications. * Fit, align, and secure components using appropriate measuring tools and fixtures to achieve accurate, high-quality welds. * Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning surfaces. * Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to verify quality and compliance with standards. * Safely operate and maintain welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment such as forklifts and hoists. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements. * Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support production schedules and timely project completion. * Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety meetings and training.
