Who You Are:
The Ideal candidate will have 2+ years relevant manufacturing experience operating machines. Glass industry experience preferred.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Polisher (Machine Operator I), you will be responsible for operating a flat polisher/glass edging machine, as well as perform preventative maintenance on the machine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
Sets up and operates a single side straight-line glass-edging machine to polish glass or mirror edges.
Starts machine and places glass or mirrors on conveyor of machine.
Fabricates glass to the specification requested by the customer, and verifies program geometric dimension based off work orders received.
Moves glass from machine and wipe edges to remove polishing compound.
Requires the use of an overhead crane to lift and maneuver glass onto the machine.
Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Transports materials including glass from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process.
Utilize a tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications
Strap glass to the carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving
Daily inspections - Look for any unsafe objects, check equipment, etc.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS include the following:
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment; Glass industry is preferred (not required).
HEAVY LIFTING - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
Must be able to push weights greater than 150lbs with a team.
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Branch Manager.
Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region in a non-climate controlled facility (Heat, Cold, humidity).

To thrive as a Machine/Filling Operator with Behr, you must be eager to learn. You don't need any previous experience or knowledge about paint or manufacturing, although it's a bonus. We'll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your career. You'll cross-train on multiple lines so you are able to assist with any role on any line that needs help.
At the start of each workday, you'll be assigned to one of the production lines. If working on a solo line, you'll oversee filling and case-packing. If it's a dual-operator line, you and a partner will do each role. If you see anything that looks off, you will pull the item. This can be a can or box label with a misprint, a lid that isn't on properly, a cardboard case with a loose flap, or any number of other things. You will also periodically pull cans to weigh them and make sure the filling equipment is working to our weight parameters. You will also do changeovers between various paints, make sure the cardboard machine stays full of cases for packing, and assist anyone else as needed.
Here's what we're looking for from you:
Excellent attendance. We can't stress this enough. Operators are the most vital part of this operation.
A commitment to safety. We are very proud of our safety record and want you to be a part of that. You will be required to wear proper safety equipment, including steel toed shoes at all times.
A desire to learn and grow. We hope you will think of this as the beginning of your career here. Some of our facility managers started as third shift operators, and we hope you grow with us, too!
Physical ability. You will be on your feet for the entire shift. You'll be lifting individual paint cans or sometimes full cases of 4 cans, which can weigh up to 50 pounds. This will happen several times a day.
A high school diploma or GED is required.

Job Description:
Are you a detail-oriented and organized professional? We have openings on 2nd and 3rd shift for Machine Operators. This is a critical role in our aluminum manufacturing operations, requiring technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of the entire machining process, including safety and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical documents to measure and cut materials, handle and transfer cut rails, load and drill rails with accurate hole locations, perform repetitive lifting, cut long rails into shorter lengths, and transfer stiles to the next operation. Additionally, load and unload pre-cut stiles, enter programs into CNC machines, and perform cutting, milling, and drilling operations.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have the ability to read and interpret technical documents, measure and cut materials accurately, and handle and transfer heavy rails. Experience with loading and drilling rails, performing repetitive lifting, and cutting long rails into shorter lengths is essential. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in loading and unloading pre-cut stiles, entering programs into CNC machines, and performing cutting, milling, and drilling operations. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are required. A minimum of 1 - 3 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Maintains and follows all 5S concepts established for the manufacturing area

Strong verbal and written communication skills
