Our swimmers are not only diving into great lessons, our employees are also diving into great opportunities! At Goldfish Swim School, we care about providing top-notch swim lessons and making every moment
Golden
.
We offer part-time hours, a set weekly schedule and a growth track in place to build your skills and achievements. You can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job.
As employers, we recognize that our team members are the most important people in our building since you are the ones who show our families why they should choose Goldfish Swim School for their children. We're looking for someone who fits our core values - you don't have to have experience teaching or as a lifeguard (but you do need to know how to swim). Most importantly, you need to have a passion for helping others and a fin-tastic personality.
What will you be doing?
Swim Instructors are responsible for ensuring the success of swim lessons by:
Making sure you and your team are set up for success at every lesson by preparing your class materials and reviewing your lesson themes
Teaching 4 swimmers per class by going through a well-established and proven curriculum of water safety, swim and swimplay skills (6 swimmers in our infant, parent-and-me style lessons). Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is followed by the next lesson consecutively for a 4-hour shift.
Communicating progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers at the end of class
Lifeguarding and supervising lessons as requested or needed
You'll guide new swimmers through their first days at Goldfish and be there to support them as they progress from mini and junior swimmers to gliders and pros!
What can we offer you?
A built-in growth track that will help you grow from swim instructor to lifeguard, Golden Teacher, Deck Supervisor and beyond
Consistent, 4-hour shifts (mostly after school and weekends ) so you'll always know what day and time you're working
Flexibility to pick up or add extra hours as a substitute teacher if you want them
The only thing better than an outdoor lifeguard summer pool job - we're open all year round and it's always 90 degrees and sunny
Recognition and rewards - Gift cards, swag or pizza after a long day in the pool, staff outings, community involvement events and company-sponsored events like baseball games, and bowling.
Support from your leaders and your team both at work and in life, whether that's inviting you to bring your friends on board or providing open, honest communication in a positive environment
What will be expected of you?
Availability for set groups of lessons (no half-shifts or mid-shifts available). Our instructors are scheduled based on set lesson times from:
4:00-8:00 Monday through Friday
8:30-3:30 on Saturday
8:30-3:30 on Sunday
Employees must be able to arrive 15 minutes before swim lessons start to set up and participate in the pre-shift meeting.
Ability to work the same part-time scheduled days every week (Ex. Every Monday from 4:00-8:00)
You have to be patient & genuine - every swimmer learns at their own pace, in their own way. Your willingness to help each student as an individual and your ability to bring your own personality to the lessons you teach are key to the success of both you and your students.
You must have communication skills to work not only with children, but with parents and team members as well
The ability to do quality work and represent Goldfish Swim School's mission to change lives and make a difference every day by going above and beyond with every detail, meeting and exceeding expectations to create a golden experience
Doing the right things, making the right decisions and treating people with integrity, compassion and trust.
Easily apply for this job using your resume or by signing in to your Indeed, ZipRecruiter or other job platform profile! You may be redirected to our careers page to apply, but we won't ask you to fill in your entire work history - just attach your resume.
