Best States For a Philosophy Professor

Some places are better than others when it comes to starting a career as a philosophy professor. The best states for people in this position are Alaska, California, Indiana, and Oregon. Philosophy professors make the most in Alaska with an average salary of $86,975. Whereas in California and Indiana, they would average $81,829 and $80,970, respectively. While philosophy professors would only make an average of $80,632 in Oregon, you would still make more there than in the rest of the country.
