Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * Performs phlebotomy procedure by identifying patient, gathers necessary supplies, verifies orders/tube labels, communicates with patient by describing steps of the procedure, cleans venipuncture site, utilizes personal protective equipment and obtains blood samples in a manner intended to limit patient discomfort.
* Verifies both written and electronic lab orders and releases orders for specimen collection. Prints tube labels and routes orders and labels to phlebotomist performing sample collection. Consults with physician team, Supervisor or testing lab for clarification and verification of appropriateness of orders. Offers suggestions for alternate testing as needed.
* Greets patients upon arrival, checks patient into scheduling/patient tracking system. Creates appointments for walk-in patients and registers patient in the Barnes system as needed.
* Monitors insurance requirements. Notifies insurance verification department of lab tests that require precertification no later than the date of service. Assures that collected samples are routed to alternate laboratories as required by insurance.
* Assists physician teams and research coordinators in completing research-related laboratory order forms. Assures that research orders are linked to the correct research billing code in the Barnes registration system.
* Prepares and maintains sample collection stations and front desk area by monitoring and stocking medical and office supplies. Advises Supervisor/Lead immediately regarding the malfunction of equipment or supply shortages. Assures efficient and effective functioning of the area by maintaining cleanliness and order.

This is a full-time, 39 hours per week, phlebotomy position located at a client site in St. Peters, MO.
Must be able to work Monday 8:30am - 5pm; Tuesday, Wednesday 9am - 5pm; Thursday 9am - 6pm; Friday 9am - 5pm.
The Client Office Phlebotomist - Out of State reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
* Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards.
* Provides appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.
* Identifies need for patient medical assistance and call code as appropriate.
* Reviews/Records refrigerator temperature(s) and QC/QA records. Areas of concern are recorded through the Corrective Action Log and reported to maintenance for repair. Findings are reported to supervisor or manager.
* Use manual requisitions and labels specimens appropriately.
* Label and process specimens according to establishes protocols and policies.
* Must effectively procure blood specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair bound patients.
* Must demonstrate competency for age related responsibilities.

About the role:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
* You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
* You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
* You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.

* You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
* You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
* You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
* You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
* You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.

About the role:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
· You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
· You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
· You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
· You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
· You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
· You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
· You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
· You will support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes through use of company approved procedures including 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.

Phlebotomist Floater under the direction of the area supervisor performs daily phlebotomy activities of the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. Ready to travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after the collection process.
Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
Completes requisitions accurately.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer. Requires attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
Maintains required records and documentation.
Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail. The person in this position is required to perform electronic data entry.
Approves time in in attendance software by noon on the Monday following the end of the pay period. Submits accurate expense and travel logs Monday for the week prior or as directed by management.
Demonstrates organizational commitment.
Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
Utilizes time appropriately. Capable of maintaining fluctuating patient flow.

1. Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible for patient groups from neonates to geriatrics.
2. Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
3. Operate basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, phone system, etc.).
4. Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, clients, and staff.
5. Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
6. Collect drug screens (internal and external) using Chain of Custody Process.

1. Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.
