Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The ENTRY PSR I helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This individual will also be trained on Phlebotomy skills to grown within the company.
The ENTRY PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect to patients regarding the scheduled procedure for the patients in a safe and accurate manner. The ENTRY PSR I will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this individual will be crucial to maintaining the integrity of the lobby and ensuring that all patients are provided with the level of service that is expected.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Job Requirements:
Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet
Be willing to learn Phlebotomy skills when there is downtime or breaks that need to be covered
Once Phlebotomy skills are obtained, to perform with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS ARE REQUIRED - this is critical to the heart of the role

High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Work Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of client facing customer service REQUIRED (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc).
Prior Phlebotomy experience is NOT required
Keyboard/data entry experience a must.

* Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
* Administer oral solutions according to established training.
* Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, Client contact, and approved tools.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
· You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
· You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
· You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
· You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
· You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
· You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
· You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
· You will support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes through use of company approved procedures including 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.

Role and Responsibilities:
Provide world-class customer care while adhering to all center SOPs.
Perform venipuncture and additional phlebotomy procedures
Collaborate with Leadership and colleagues to maintain efficient donor flow through the donation process from Screening through Disconnect.
Collaborate with Medical team on all Donor Adverse Events to ensure adherence to all applicable SOPs

Qualifications and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred but not necessary
Comfortable handling needles and other donation machine equipment
Must be comfortable seeing and working with blood and blood components
Exceptional customer service and genuine care for donors
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time.
Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
Be able to bend, stoop or kneel and climb stairs or ladder.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to enter a walk-in freezer with a temperature of -40 C for short periods.

JOB SUMMARY:
Phlebotomist Floater under the direction of the area supervisor performs daily phlebotomy activities of the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. Phlebotomist Floater works assisting with coverage of client locations as needed. Travel is required. The person in this position interacts with the client, patients, and other PathGroup personnel in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ready to travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after the collection process.
Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
Completes requisitions accurately.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer. Requires attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
Maintains required records and documentation.
Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail. The person in this position is required to perform electronic data entry.
Approves time in in attendance software by noon on the Monday following the end of the pay period. Submits accurate expense and travel logs Monday for the week prior or as directed by management.
Demonstrates organizational commitment.
Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
Utilizes time appropriately. Capable of maintaining fluctuating patient flow.
Displays courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers. Communicates with co-workers and clients in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.

About the role:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
* You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
* You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
* You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
* You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
* You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
* You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
* You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
* You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
* You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
