Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in venipuncture and specimen collection and be comfortable working in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and patient homes. This is a flexible, on-call position based on client needs and your availability.
Responsibilities:
Perform venipunctures and capillary blood collections following proper procedures
Verify patient identification and accurately label specimens
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following infection control protocols
Handle and transport specimens safely and according to policy
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety
Adapt to various environments and work independently or as part of a team
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program
Current Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) preferred
Minimum of 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience
Current CPR certification
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (if traveling between sites or to patient homes)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Essential Functions:
Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks. Verifies specimen identification and appropriateness of sample type/volume for the indicated testing. Processes samples using aseptic technique and prepares required paperwork for appropriate testing and reference lab testing. Confers with patients to obtain information for laboratory records and to explain procedures.
Communicates effectively with other departments and staff, including physicians and their offices, to facilitate the flow and quality of lab work.
Monitors and maintains equipment as needed per regulations, interfacing with clinical engineering and technical consultant when appropriate. Follows established guidelines for missed collections, recollects, and difficult phlebotomies.
Assists in ordering supplies, noting expiration dates, usage, and delivery times for stock and non-stock items; upon delivery checks received items against items ordered, puts away stock, rotates items for expiration dates, and discards expired items.
Coordinates with Lead Phlebotomist to run quality controls daily as needed as well as other required testing. Performs proficiency testing per regulatory agency procedures and documented according to established guidelines. Participates in departmental performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Attention all Phlebotomists, we are calling on you to partner with us to provide services to our Military Service members. We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of Hawaii on an "as needed basis".
Under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) we provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
