Key Responsibilities:
Perform 35-40 high-quality blood draws daily
Serve pediatric and geriatric patients
Perform urine collection and general specimen processing
Maintain accurate labeling, handling, and transport
Deliver excellent customer service in fast-paced environments
Work independently or with a team, depending on assigned site
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment
Complete training with a team lead at the assigned location
Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of phlebotomy experience required
Experience drawing both pediatric and geriatric patients
Must be able to stand most of the day
High school diploma or equivalent required
Color vision required
TB test and Hep B offered
Reliable transportation for 100% travel between sites
Experience in fast-paced patient service centers preferred
Automatic Disqualification:

Collects timed specimens as ordered, prioritizing and efficiently completing phlebotomy tasks to meet clinical needs.
Identifies and resolves specimen issues, including addressing rejections and recollecting samples when necessary.
Collaborates with healthcare team members to clarify orders, resolve collection challenges, and communicate specimen status.
Adheres to all laboratory and hospital safety requirements and follows Laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
· You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
· You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
· You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
· You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
· You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
· You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
· You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
* You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
* You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
* You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
* You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
* You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
* You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
* You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
* Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
* Collect blood using automated instruments (once trained)
* Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS)
* Determine donor eligibility based on the results of the donor interview and physical process
* Accurately identify donors in every step of the donation process
* Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment and rescheduling of donors
* Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate
* Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED
* Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
* Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
* Proficient in a variety of computer software applications
* Excellent teamwork skills
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
* Previous customer service experience preferred
* CDL holders preferred; additional compensation available preferred
