Under general supervision, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and waived testing. This position requires excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Schedule - A 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:00 pm PST. May include some Saturday and Holiday rotations. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:
Venipuncture and specimen collection:
Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques promptly
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Process and prepare specimens for testing and transport
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection, testing, and equipment
Give proper patient collection instructions (i.e. urine collection, stool collection, etc.)
Instruct patients in post-phlebotomy care
Properly dispose of bio-hazardous and sharps materials
Obtain specimens for microbiology testing
Order sufficient supplies to perform the workload and rotate stock and prevent the use of outdated supplies
Always follow the venipuncture standard of work (SOW)
Always follow the processing standard of work (SOW) including positive identification of all patient specimens
Perform waived laboratory testing:
May perform waived laboratory testing
Customer Experience:
Interact with patients and healthcare providers in a professional and compassionate manner
While registering patients, always follow the reception standard of work (SOW)
Problem solves efficiently and promptly

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification from the state to perform capillary and venous invasive procedures for blood withdrawal under the supervision of a health care practitioner
Completion of a Phlebotomy Certificate program through an accredited school
BLS certification or obtained within 6 months of employment

Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for clinic laboratory functions within the scope of their licensure including phlebotomy, capillary and heel sticks, processing and sending lab specimens, record keeping, quality controls and performance of in-house lab tests. Your contribution to the team includes:
* Responsible for lab coverage and managing the day-to-day operations of the lab.
* Perform venous blood draws and in-house lab tests as well as Lab Corp tests according to established protocols.
* Verify patient by reading patient identification, properly labeling specimens by initialing, dating and noting times of collection and documenting in daily lab logs and maintaining quality results by following department procedures and identifying and reporting needed changes.
* Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.
* Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures.
* Coordinate the processing of specimens to be sent to LabCorp including review of lab requisition.
* Responsible for regular quality control checks of lab procedures on a daily basis.
* Responsible for daily sign-off in Cleaning and Maintenance log
* Responsible for monthly reporting and reconciliation of all lab paperwork and submitting to MA Supervisor for review.
* Responsible for running site specific "Pending Labs Report #306" as well as responsibility with reporting, tracking and resolution of outstanding lab orders.
* Complete controls and maintain logs on a monthly basis
* Stock and clean and maintain lab, patient bathroom and lab equipment
* Responsible for ordering lab supplies and regular checking of any expired lab supplies.
* Perform administrative tasks such as inbox tasks, lab letters in a timely manner
* Engage with Medical Lab Coordinator for lab compliance.
* Manage Medical Assistant Visits to include but not limited to blood draws, capillary sticks, heel sticks in a timely manner throughout the day.
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Serve and protect the clinic by adhering to professional standards, HealthPoint policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Under general supervision, the Senior Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory duties, including specimen collection, waived and moderate testing (including microscopy), and EKGs. The Senior Phlebotomist will have a strong background in phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, and patient care. This position requires excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. The Senior Phlebotomist will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:
Venipuncture and specimen collection:
Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques promptly
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Process and prepare specimens for testing and transport
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection, testing, and equipment
Give proper patient collection instructions (i.e. urine collection, stool collection, etc.)
Instruct patients in post-phlebotomy care
Properly dispose of bio-hazardous and sharps materials
Obtain specimens for microbiology testing
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other miscellaneous services
Order sufficient supplies to perform the workload and rotate stock and prevent the use of outdated supplies
Always follow the venipuncture standard of work (SOW)
Always follow the processing standard of work (SOW) including positive identification of all patient specimens
Perform waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing:
Performs both waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing, including microscopy
Maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and laboratory procedures
Perform quality control and calibration procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities including proficiency testing

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification from the state of Washington to perform capillary and venous invasive procedures for blood withdrawal under the supervision of a health care practitioner
Completion of a Phlebotomy Certificate program through an accredited school
BLS (AHA) certification is required or obtained within the first 30 days of employment
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and demonstrates solid computer skills
Ability to have reliable transportation and travel to other draw stations
Able to use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects. Occasionally, lifting to 50 pounds and carrying up to 24 pounds may be required
