About the role:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* You will answer phones, and greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and our team.
* You will screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
* You will use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.

Pelican Plasma is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at the plasma donation center in south Shreveport. The phlebotomist will be responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the automated plasmapheresis process and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines. They will also provide information to guide prospective donors through the donation process and provide post-venipuncture care.
The plasma we collect from donors is used for development of lifesaving therapies and treatments. By creating a positive donor experience, the phlebotomist will help cultivate a pool of return donors and promote the production of essential plasma-derived medicines and therapies. The phlebotomist will work collaboratively with our healthcare team, integrating our mission and values into daily decisions, behaviors and actions.
Job Duties include:
Meets and exceeds customer expectations through appropriate interaction and responsiveness to donor needs
Adheres to established quality practices while continually seeking to improve work performance
Ensures the safety of donors and purity of product as a result of the plasma collection process

Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
Maintains required records and documentation.
Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail. The person in this position is required to perform electronic data entry.
