We're seeking motivated individuals ready to make a difference in patient care. In this exciting role, we provide full training in Medical Assisting and other clinical procedures. As a Lab Services Specialist/ Member Support Specialist at one of our offices presently focused on our Senior Health member population (age 65+), you'll provide exceptional care and phlebotomy support for our patients, while training to provide other clinical support services, such as EKG's, injections, etc. With a strong drive for service and human connection, you will remove barriers to care. You will also be the first point of contact for our patients, the steward of our office space, and provide any other support as requested by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers. What you'll likely work on from day one: Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the key elements of a great interaction and effective communication that we use with patients and each other) in all patient interactions and ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback and assisting with outreach as necessary Provide best in class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics Perform and assist with non-blood specimen collection Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties such as, but not limited to biometric screening forms, medical record and consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting All front of house duties including check in/check out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, tasking to service level expectations etc Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem solving, supporting in office providers with ad hoc asks, etc. Master our technology suite including but not limited to Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life, in order to interact with team members and patients and complete daily work Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep as required, including maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization What you'll work on in the future: Upon successful completion of One Medical clinical training and state required education and/or certifications your responsibilities and compensation will scale to that of our Lab Services Specialist/ Member Support Specialist role. Diagnostic information shall be in a narrative or ICD-9 code format and valid only if legible. 4. If a patient is a Medicare patient, you must review the National Coverage Decisions (“NCD”) and Local Medical review Policies (“LMRP”) for the tests ordered on the requisition form to determine if an Advance Beneficiary Notice (“ABN”) must be completed. If the form is needed, correctly complete the form with the patient. 5. Ensure that the Medicare Secondary Form (“MSP”) is completed when necessary. 6. Accurately collect all specimens necessary to fulfill the clients' lab orders. 7. Provide accurate communication to clients and their staff regarding the proper ordering of lab tests. 8.     Job Description Mobile Phlebotomy | Phlebotomist We are a reference lab servicing homebound patients in the Phoenix Valley. The mobile phlebotomists are responsible for drawing blood and collecting specimen for lab testing. The ideal candidate has a good driving record, high attention to detail and drive to help patient. CORE FUNCTIONS To include the following: 1) Specimen collection at Nursing Homes, Assisted Living facilities, Long-Term Care Facilities & Private patient homes on the 2) Transportation of the specimen back to the main testing facility in Phoenix (85040). 3) General laboratory specimen processing, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity by using appropriate techniques for all age criteria as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum age requirement of 18. Must be a high school graduate or have achieved equivalency through the GED exam. Good reading, writing, and math abilities are required. Good organizational skills are also required. Basic knowledge of department resource materials. Previous experience of a minimum of 1 year in a clinical laboratory setting. Phlebotomy positions may substitute completion of a phlebotomy school for the experience. Basic computer skills are required. Must possess a valid State driver's license and have a personal vehicle to use for specimen collections.
