About the role:
Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
· You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
· You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
· You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
· You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
· You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
· You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
· You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
· You will support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes through use of company approved procedures including 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.

Phlebotomist Leader, under the direction of the area supervisor, ensure that daily work of the Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and In-office Phlebotomy (IOPs) are completed accurately and on time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist supervisors with the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for phlebotomy services in accordance with PathGroup guidelines.
Function as back up for the Phlebotomist Supervisor as necessary and carry out duties in his/her absence.
Coordinate the work of phlebotomist in the Patient Service Centers and In-office Phlebotomy (IOPs) to assure that production is consistent and service levels are maintained. Play an important role in the dissemination of information to employees.
Responsible for training, coaching, and providing input on the performance evaluation of the phlebotomists. Assist in relocating, opening new facilities as necessary.
Perform site visits as assigned, and document findings. Assist with QA (quality assurance) audits.
Greet customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after the collection process.
Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
Completes requisitions accurately.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer. Requires attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
Maintains required records and documentation.
Prepares schedules with minimal overtime for employees and floaters to be submitted to the supervisor for approval.
Assist with time/attendance entry of employees.
Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail. The person in this position is required to perform electronic data entry.
Approves time in attendance software by noon on the Monday following the end of the pay period. Submits accurate expense and travel logs Monday for the week prior or as directed by management.

Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.

Package specimens for transport. Purpose: The Laboratory Representative will assist in specimen collection. The employee will be responsible for all issues related to laboratory specimen collection and procedures. The Laboratory Representative will be responsible for lab operations and managing supplies/materials. The Laboratory Representative will work closely with the Laboratory Manager and Technologist to ensure accreditation and compliance requirements for all lab operations.
Duties: The Laboratory Representative will conduct specimen collection and observance. The Laboratory Representative will conduct all duties assigned to them by the Lab Manager.
Physical and Work Conditions:
· Work is sedentary and ambulant with occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.) ability to support patient weight in case of emergency or disability requiring assistance.

Job Summary:
Performs Phlebotomy with minimal guidance. Responsible for accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing including packaging specimens or tissue materials to be sent out to referring laboratory. Works closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers. Performs customer service functions including telephone etiquette and basic troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
Performs patient check-in procedure and updates patient information as necessary in registration system.
When applicable, places generic manual orders and sends to Specimen Receiving or to the Patient Service Specialist for accessioning.
Instructs patients on proper collection of urine, stool, sputum and saliva specimens, and provides appropriate collection supplies.
Administers oral solutions for glucose tolerance testing according to established training and identifies the best method for retrieving blood samples and other specimens.
Demonstrates Credo behaviors in all interactions including explaining blood draw procedures to patients, answering any questions about the process and assisting patients, co-workers and internal customers as appropriate
Verifies patient identification with two identifiers both before and after venipuncture, labeling tubes immediately following the venipuncture in front of the patient.
Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures and obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and capillary sticks according to age specific guidelines.
Processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing, to include centrifuging and aliquoting of blood samples. Packages and stores specimens appropriately for transport using guidance from lab test directories.
Takes responsibility for safety checks, supply management and assists with training. preceptor to students and new hires.
