Essential Functions:

You may be required to provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes. Additional responsibilities include:
1. Accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation.
2. Working with a variety of computer programs/systems.
3. Utilizing excellent customer relations and communication skills in performing phlebotomy
4. Answering the phone and interacting with patients, nurses, providers, and other health care professionals to ensure high customer satisfaction.
5. Demonstrating a positive and professional demeanor.
6. Working independently as well as within a team.

Job Description:
Pay Range: $18 - $23 per hour
SCOPE: Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the collecting and processing of specimens from patients. Follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Assists with patient flow as needed. Properly identifies patient, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties. Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered. Assures pre-authorizations and completes appropriate consent (ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program including accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists.
Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures that all supplies are viable before using for patient collection.
Sends specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house.
Processes incoming orders for lab testing.
Processes in-house and in-coming reports.
Updates and files all daily paperwork, lab logs and maintenance logs.
Properly identifies and bands patients for blood product transfusion. Processes properly labeled specimens according to local blood bank policy.
Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.
Uses equipment effectively, skillfully, and efficiently. Maintains equipment and work area as directed.
Performs waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines for personnel. Records proper lot numbers of all controls, calibrator, and reagents for waived lab tests.
Complies with regulatory agency standards. Adheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures.
Properly disposes of hazardous materials.
Maintains a clean working environment and restocks the phlebotomy and laboratory area as needed.
Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires at least one year of phlebotomy experience or licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Current state licensure if applicable.

A confidential healthcare/research organization is seeking a Phlebotomist to support community -based screening and research initiatives. This role combines direct patient/participant interaction, specimen collection, and data/documentation responsibilities in both clinic and community settings.
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist will provide venipuncture and biometric screening services at various community and clinic sites, while ensuring accurate data collection, regulatory compliance, and excellent participant experience. This role is ideal for someone who is detail -oriented, comfortable working in the community, and able to balance clinical and research -related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a phlebotomist at clinic and community locations under direction of program leadership
Greet and register research participants; update registration and referral/authorization details as needed
Conduct biometric screenings, including:
Fingerstick or venipuncture blood draws
Blood pressure, height, weight, and related measurements
Ensure screening supplies and equipment are available, functioning, and ready at each event
Collect and accurately enter participant data into designated systems
Ensure timely delivery of biometric data and specimens to the appropriate division or lab
Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary tests; maintain accurate scheduling and follow -up information
Act as liaison between community sites and the program team to support participant recruitment
Act as a point of contact between participants and study leadership regarding consent and study -related questions
Compile and maintain research files and records in accordance with protocol and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
MediClear or equivalent HIPAA/privacy certification (required)
Knowledge of basic biology and medical concepts related to phlebotomy and biometric testing
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to work with diverse communities
Ability to document accurately and maintain organized records
Comfortable performing venipuncture and fingerstick blood draws
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to focus, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a structured environment
