The Phlebotomist plays a pivotal role at Kinwell in coordinating and optimizing patient care by ensuring accurate specimen collection, seamless laboratory processes, and compliance with safety standards. This position supports Kinwell healthcare providers by completing clinician orders for laboratory testing, performing limited point-of-care testing, and preparing specimens for transport.
This role qualifies for +7.5% pay differential for employees assigned to a home location in a qualifying Kinwell Clinic, which is currently our Ballard, Denny Way, and Westlake clinics.
What you'll do:
* Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary techniques promptly and accurately.
* Ensure proper patient identification, specimen labeling, and documentation.
* Provide patient instructions for specimen collection (e.g., urine, stool) and post-phlebotomy care.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
* Prepare and package specimens for transport to outside labs.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection and equipment.
* Dispose of biohazardous and sharps materials according to protocol.

What you'll bring:
* Certification as a Medical Assistant-PBT (Phlebotomist) by time of hire.
* Active Washington state certification through the Department of Health (DOH) as a Certified Medical Assistant- Phlebotomist.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Documented training per CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1423.
* One year of experience as a Phlebotomist or performing whole blood collections.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care strongly preferred at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA), Red Cross, or Military Training Network (MTN) or willingness to obtain within 6-months of hire.
* Experience with Quest Diagnostics.
* Experience using EPIC. (Preferred)
* Understanding of CLIA practices and testing.
* Ability to serve pediatric and elderly patients.

Phlebotomist - PAML

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.
Phlebotomist may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Pay Range: $22.30-$30.41 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm; additional hours and rotating Saturdays as needed

Job Responsibilities:
Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when required
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to additional sites when needed
Job Requirements:
Must have valid Washington issued Phlebotomy License or have an application for Phlebotomy License filed with Washington Department of Health at time of hire
6 months of previous experience as a phlebotomist is preferred
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
