What you will be doing:
Utilize job experience and knowledge to provide exceptional donor experiences.
Ability to utilize all computer systems to process donors through their donor process (screening and whole blood phlebotomy, and automated collections when appropriate).
Take personal responsibility for donor safety, complying with all Blood Center standard procedures and other regulatory standards.
Set-up all supplies and equipment, completion of daily QC, and assure all equipment and supplies are available before the collection event.
What you will bring to the role:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred.
6 months' experience in a Blood Center or other Healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
1 years' experience in customer service is strongly preferred.
Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate (verbal, written, and listening) fluently in English
Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position
Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary.
Additional information: This position reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager
Hours vary daily based on schedule can be either 7am - 3pm or 12pm - 8pm
To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call to cover weekends and holidays
A schedule is provided two weeks in advance
The first two weeks of training will take place onsite at our blood center at 1465 Valley Center Parkway Bethlehem, PA.

Job Description Phlebotomists are responsible accurately performing phlebotomy and specimen collection of inpatients and/or outpatients. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
Package specimens for transport
Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attends annual department trainings
Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Reliable transportation with at least 4 years of licensed driving experience and possess a valid driver's license issued in the state of residence.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
