The Opportunity As a One Medical Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist, you'll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey by providing venipuncture, dispensary responsibilities, as well as other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients in office, with a mastery of human connection and a strong drive for service. You will remove barriers to care, resulting in a truly exceptional in-office patient experience. This includes support for the office with a focus on active daily management, scheduling, inventory, and facilities support. You are the steward of the space and ensure the look and feel of the office lobby are on brand with the One Medical experience. You will be the first point of contact for patient feedback, as well as provide any other support as requested by the Leads, Office Manager, or in office providers. You are a strong team player and use your innovative problem solving skills to tackle various tasks and challenges. You combine excellent specimen collection technique with tactful interpersonal skills during every interaction with your patients. You have a strong grasp of verbal and written communication. What you'll work on: Provide best in class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as, but not limited to non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization Dispensary responsibilities include verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging and labeling prescriptions for patient pick-up. Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties such as, but not limited to biometric screening forms, medical record and consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the key elements of a great interaction and effective communication that we use with patients and each other) in all patient interactions and ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback and assisting with outreach as necessary All front of house duties including check in/check out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, tasking to service level expectations etc. Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem solving, supporting in office providers with ad hoc asks, etc. Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep as required, including maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization Master our technology suite including, but not limited to Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical Record System, in order to interact with team members and complete daily work These responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by personnel assigned to this job classification. Make notation on comment line of order in computer of any information necessary for the person performing the test or the ordering provider. Prints uncollected reports from LIS to ensure all collected samples have been received in the lab. Processes specimens by centrifugation as needed; uses judgement in assessing specimen suitability. Performs iStat ACT patient testing and Quality Control as required Enters data into the LIS, including collection data, cancelation of tests, and comments as appropriate. Enters physician’s orders into LIS, including any comments such as fax or call comments. Demonstrates initiative and makes good decisions in situations not covered by policies. Accepts and delivers constructive criticism in a positive manner. Maintains a clean and organized work environment; cleans up after themselves in the patient rooms and phlebotomy area. Assists phlebotomy supervisor in training of employees as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor/director.
