Job Description Bayhealth, Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist. We're looking for highly motivated personnel to join our fast growing team. Mobile Phlebotomist Responsibilities: Collect blood samples from patients at their residences (homes, board and care homes, assisted living facilities). Select appropriate lab tubes/vials for specified tests. Label vials accurately with patient names and dates. Determine the best blood-drawing method for each patient. Ensure collected blood meets regulatory standards. Transport samples to a nearby laboratory. Centrifuge blood samples if permitted by state regulations. Interact with patients in a friendly and sympathetic manner. Maintain a well-organized phlebotomy cart/station. Adhere to infection control standards. Engage positively with customers, demonstrating care and compassion. Qualifications: Ability to prioritize and work on multi-task with minimum supervision Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills Excellent communication skills Excellent computer skills High attention to detail Ability to type at least 50 wpm Experience in home health preferred Ability to speak a second language (ie. POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, the Certified Phlebotomy Technician performs routine preparation for laboratory testing; performs venipuncture and other specified tests within their scope of practice, and prepares specimens for pick-up by Ravenswood's contracted laboratory. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To be performed in accordance with RFHN Policies and Procedures * Performs venous and skin punctures to obtain blood samples. * Prepares specimens for shipping and maintains accurate records. This may include supervision of urine collection and centrifuge of blood specimens. * Enters data into EHR system, including insurance and billing information. * Maintains laboratory and equipment in an orderly and sanitary condition. * Performs and records necessary quality control testing. * Conducts inventory and stocking of supplies and equipment as needed. * Other duties as assigned and requested.
