    Job DescriptionDescription: Repair and maintain all production related machinery, and the physical Plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs preventative maintenance according to established procedures; Repairs molding and lining department machinery and auxiliary support equipment (e.g. presses, lining/assembly machines, chillers, cooling towers, un-winders, spinning bowls, etc.); Performs mold changes and tool changes; Performs and completes necessary documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly PMs, safety checks, and troubleshooting/repairs; Follows and adheres to lock out / tag out procedures; Fabricates parts (e.g. guards, tooling components) for machines as needed; Continually increases skills through education and training; Familiarizes themselves with all equipment on the production floor including its purpose, use, and function. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for complete PM's and WO's correctly and in a timely manner. Write work orders for repairs and / or improvements. Assist with ordering parts for equipment and or projects. Directly involved in training new hires and employee transfers. Willingness to work overtime to complete open projects or support absences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs scheduled maintenance on molds as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor; Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to: - Complete dis-assembly of molds - Clean and inspection of all components - Repair any damages as directed by Tool Room Supervisor - Install, replace, and maintain water and hydraulic fittings - Troubleshoot, repair and maintain HR manifolds, controllers, and cables - Perform tooling changeovers only after reviewing the applicable Mold Recipe Document (cores, strippers, cavities, gate inserts, and plates) - Prior to production - test water and HR systems, including controllers - Replace “O” rings and seals - Lubricate molds Transport and manipulate molds by use of fork lifts and overhead cranes; Documents condition of tooling; informs supervisor of any major damage to mold or tooling; Checks knock out rods, chute for mold, water lines/hoses, etc.; Returns tooling and components to their assigned locations; Hooks up / unhooks water, chute, and cylinder (if rack mold) for mold changes in accordance to engineering approves prints; Installs / removes knock out rods, conveyors, spinner bowls, side shields, and thermolator; Hooks up / unhooks controller, (if hot runner mold); Constructs side shields, chutes, or knock out rods as required; Adheres to all department safety procedures; Undergoes training and becomes proficient in all tool room related Phoenix Work Instructions; Participates in additional training to improve knowledge and hands-on skill levels.
