Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Based on conditions, selects appropriate camera-film combinations for the subject involved. Selects lighting effects (e.g. polarized, stroboscopic, multiple flash. available light), reflectors and filters to produce the desired results. Consults with curators about artifact handling before imaging an artifact. Positions subjects and/or objects regarding foreground and backgrounds. Discusses what effects or emphasis is desired with both administrative and technical personnel to place proper emphasis on portions and/or present a true perspective of the unit. Works independently, with and without the requester, conceiving, planning, and completing finished product, using traditional photography and electronic imaging to gain required effect. Take documentary photographs of museum artifacts and exhibits. Takes condition report photographs of museum artifacts going out on loan or exhibit. Provide photographic support for museum events.
