To do that, we looked at the most recent data we have available for the following criteria -- average annual wages, and availability of jobs for photographers.We found that the South is best for photographers, and the Northeast is the worst. New York, NY is the best city in the country for photographer jobs, where as New York is the best state in the country.

    I don't think there are specific places in the U.S. that are better for photography professions. Photography is needed everywhere, so I think just finding places that aren't already saturated with photographers is the key.
