The student photographer will help to plan, set up, capture, and edit photography on-site at events both on and off campus. Under the guidance of the AVP of Strategic Marketing and Communications and the Director of Creative Services, this individual will serve as a key resource to the campus community on a wide variety of design and visual art elements for print and other marketing materials. They will regularly provide images for the university's website, social media, flyers, brochures, advertisements, and more while maintaining a consistent visual identity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in progress in photography, fine arts, videography, communications, journalism or related field, with expertise in still photography, commercial photography, photojournalism, studio photography, videography and/or digital editing a plus. Experience with digital assets management systems and techniques; working knowledge of formatting images and videos for the web and social media. Strong proficiency in the use of industry standard image and editing software is required, including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required. Must be a current University of La Verne student Preferred Qualifications Creative thinker; ability to adapt in dynamic environment; strong customer service-oriented skills; action-oriented; detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure. EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY Employment with ASI is open to any Cal Poly Pomona student who is eligible to work and has the legal right to work in the United States. In addition, student employees must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 units (undergraduate) and 4.0 units (graduate), international student employees must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) and 6.0 units (graduate) at the end of the add-drop period. Student employees are required to have a minimum overall and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0 and be in good academic standing with the University. Individuals enrolled only in Extended University are not eligible for hire. Exceptions to the unit load requirement are allowed during the summer term and for students who have applied for graduation for the current term. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear; manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and verbal communication; use of office equipment: telephones, calculator, copier and fax.
