Looking to join a world-class blockchain development team? Ava Labs makes it simple to deploy high-performance solutions for Web3, led by innovations on Avalanche. The company was founded by Cornell computer scientists, who partnered with Wall Street veterans and early Web3 leaders to execute a promising vision for redefining the way people build permissionless networks. Ava Labs is redefining the way people create value with Web3. Join us as we empower people to easily and freely digitize all the world's assets on one open, programmable blockchain platform.
We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Group. This team is responsible for maintaining and advancing the EVM for the Avalanche blockchain and its ecosystem. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain and advance Avalanche's EVM-compatible chains.
Design and implement paradigm-shifting extensions on top of vanilla EVMs, without breaking ecosystem compatibility.
Here are some specific examples of projects you will contribute to:
libevm (repo): the EVM as a library; a backwards-compatible fork of geth with injectable configuration directives to minimise merge conflicts.
Streaming Asynchronous Execution (spec / talk / repo): decoupled consensus and execution, allowing for always-on, concurrent execution without forced dormancy.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT
A self-starter with insatiable curiosity, combined with being comfortable diving into someone else's code to understand how it works. You treat the code as the source of truth and are able to discern nuances from there.
Meticulous attention to detail and an appreciation for clean, maintainable code. You create software as much for the end user as for the love of the craft.
You feel at home in a hacker culture. You believe that creativity is not just limited to the arts. You understand the rules of the system primarily so you can bend them.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Highly proficient in Golang; the language and its primitives are second-nature to you, and you are comfortable mentoring others.
Independent Solidity experience; you are comfortable deploying a smart contract to production.
Deep knowledge of the life of an EVM transaction, from wallet to opcode.
Demonstrable experience with geth internals are a bonus.
Salary Range: $253,479 to $269,321

Auto-ApplyStaff Engineer, API
Remote job
Asana's API gives external developers the power and flexibility to extend Asana's functionality in creative ways that Asana doesn't yet provide. In turn, this rich ecosystem of apps, integrations, and scripts helps us ensure that Asana can support every customer use case out there - no matter how big or small the team, and no matter which tools or workflows they use. The API team at Asana builds the Developer Platform that makes this possible; we own the gateway that facilitates data flow in and out of Asana.
We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead to help us make our Developer Platform come to life, driving execution and technical vision for the team. Your scope will range from assisting product teams in exposing new functionality via the API, to overseeing foundational changes to our API's core features and security model, to rearchitecting the underlying API frameworks for simplicity and ease-of-use, to mentoring and growing the engineers and developer advocates on the team. If you care deeply about building effective developer experiences and high-performing engineering teams, then we'd love to hear from you!
This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.
What you'll achieve
Set the technical strategy for the API platform within Asana and advocate for engineering-driven investments, with a vision for keeping our systems flexible and maintainable to meet customer needs now and in the future
Drive the team to continually and holistically better itself, enabling the engineers around you to deliver at a high velocity while helping them grow their skills in the process
Be a key collaborator with other groups in Engineering and a technical counterpart to the API team's Engineering Manager, serving as a public face for API engineering and representing our interests across team boundaries
Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and User Research to deeply understand developer needs, and then propose elegant solutions to meet them
Own and shape the guidelines for what good API design looks like, partnering with product engineering teams to help them implement those best practices in a self-serve manner
Develop across the entire stack to make developers' experiences better by writing clean, beautiful code and leaving things better than you found them: this includes writing Scala, Javascript, and Typescript
About you
6+ years of experience working in large codebases
2+ years leading engineering teams
1+ years building public-facing API products or Developer Platforms
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
Quick learner and comfortable transitioning between different contexts and codebases, enabling you to jump in and rapidly unblock teammates facing thorny obstacles
Deep project management experience including high-level timeline planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and coordinating the work of others
Passionate about mentoring engineers at all skill levels; able to identify technical growth opportunities and deliver thoughtful, candid feedback
Excited to be a part of an inclusive culture where everyone brings the aspects of themselves to the workplace that they need to thrive, fostering an environment of psychological safety within your team
Demonstrate curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
What we'll offer
Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $248,000 - $316,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers. How We Work We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote
2026: The Year of AI at Honeycomb
We're scaling our dedicated AI Team-a group of builders shaping the future of developer tools with AI at the core. This isn't just about building cool demos-it's about shipping reliable, innovative AI-powered features that make our users faster, smarter, and more effective. As a Staff AI Engineer, you'll lead high-impact projects, mentor teammates, and help define what great AI at Honeycomb looks like.
We've already shipped major AI capabilities like an AI-guided workspace to query your Honeycomb data, Natural Language Querying, and an MCP server, and shared our learnings along the way in posts like So we shipped an AI Product, did it work?. Now we're investing even more deeply. Want to help write the next chapter?
A little more about the team:
The AI team is dedicated to building user-facing AI features that transform how engineers explore and understand their software systems. Along with the rest of the team's triad, you'll help lead a cross-functional team reshaping Honeycomb into an AI-native platform for observability. If you're excited about owning high-impact, greenfield projects and helping define what “great AI” looks like in production, we'd love to meet you.
What you'll do in the role:
Own end-to-end implementation of AI-powered product features, from prototypes to production. Mentor other engineers on the team, leveling up the team as a whole. Collaborate across the organization to support shipping these features to production.
Handle prompt engineering, model tuning, and evaluation strategies to improve reliability and UX.
Collaborate with product and design partners in defining and scoping AI-driven experiences.
Teach best practices for working with LLMs, including prompt design and evaluation methodologies.
Learn deeply about Honeycomb's workflows and user problems to build truly helpful AI features.
Iterate through fast feedback loops, experimentation, and sharing both wins and failures.
What you'll bring to the role:
Ideally 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building ML/AI-powered features in production.
Proven experience shipping production AI/GenAI features end-to-end.
Strong background as a Staff-level product software engineer (not data science or ML-research-only).
Experience iteratively improving GenAI-powered features based on quantitative and qualitative signals.
Ability to design, run, and evaluate experiments for AI features.
Prior on-call experience supporting production systems.
Deep expertise in LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation methods.
Proficiency in backend development using Python, Go, Ruby, TypeScript or a similar language.
Strong cross-functional skills and a track record of collaborating closely with PMs and designers.
Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments.
Bonus: Experience with observability tools, production infrastructure, or public contributions to the AI community.
Your recruiter will ask you for feedback on our range and your compensation expectations in the first call.
Base Salary based on level of experience$259,300-$305,000 USD

Time to recharge - Unlimited PTO and paid sabbatical
A remote-first mindset and culture (really!)
Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents
