The COTA works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Services are provided in a variety of health care settings. Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved. Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs and meets state specific requirements. Complies with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of conduct as set forth by the American Association of Occupational Therapy. Performs other duties as assigned and in accordance with scope of practice for OTAs.
