Responsibilities:
Initiate and Maintain Therapeutic Programs: Reviews evaluations and plans of treatment written by Licensed Physical Therapist. Implements patient treatment programs. Assists with the physical integration of patients to various types of surfaces including hills, stairs, even and uneven surfaces.
Implement Treatment Programs: As directed by Licensed Physical Therapy, the Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant may provide pain relief modalities including application of hot packs, cold packs, "omni stim" units, neuromuscular stimulation unit, transcutaneous nerve stimulation units if trained to do so. Other modalities could include the ability to perform light and deep massage. Reviews and updates patient programs through monthly reassessments and selection of interim goals between initial and discharge and appropriately advances modules under direction and oversight of the Licensed Physical Therapist.
Program Management: Continuously check on patient progress under the direct supervision of a therapist.
