As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will:
Provide in-home patient visits based on the patient's plan of care under the direction of a PhysicalTherapist (PT).
Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
Observe, record, and report to the supervising provider, the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
Educate the patient and family on how they can best participate, assist, and contribute to the patient's rehabilitation.
To qualify for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with us, you will need:
Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice as a PhysicalTherapistAssistant (PTA) in the state associated with this position.
Current CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification.
Valid state-issued driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation; willingness to travel.
One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a PhysicalTherapist (PT) in a home health or similar setting.

Responsibilities
The PhysicalTherapistAssistant - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13 week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings. On assignment the PhysicalTherapistAssistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed PhysicalTherapist.
Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physicaltherapist.
Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
Acts as an assistant to the PhysicalTherapist when the PhysicalTherapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the PhysicalTherapist.
Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.

Qualified candidates for this position offer:
Education: Associate Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an approved curriculum.
Experience: Two to four years experience preferred.
Licensure: Current license for occupational therapy assisting in the state in which practicing.
