Oversees the care provided by rehabilitation aides according to established regulations and practice standards, and may involve coordinating activities of rehabilitation aides, students, and other support personnel. Evaluates and interprets patient data relative to age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, modifying approaches and communication skills accordingly. Identifies the need for patient and caregiver education, utilizing opportunities for teaching and documenting understanding as appropriate. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives. Maintains clinical competencies through professional development, best practices, and serving as a clinical instructor. Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
