This OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASST. (COTA) opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient schedule. This dynamic individual will be responsible for administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the staff occupational therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff occupational therapist after the occupational therapist has evaluated the patient. The occupational therapy assistantassists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The occupational therapy assistant participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the staff occupational therapist. Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
* Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect, discusses observations with staff occupational therapist.
* Ability to perform components of an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric patients and the general adult patient population.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

What would you do in this role?
This position delivers patient-centered physical therapy services by implementing individualized treatment programs that restore function, reduce pain, and prevent disability. In collaboration with the PhysicalTherapist and healthcare team, the role includes reviewing referrals, assessing and documenting patient progress in the electronic medical record, modifying interventions as needed, and educating patients on assistive devices, home programs, injury prevention, and orthopedic health, while ensuring appropriate follow-up care to support successful outcomes.
A Day in the Life
· Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients;
· Review physician's referral and patient's medical records and confer with patient and appropriate medical practitioners to plan, implement, and assess the intervention program in conjunction with the PhysicalTherapist;
· Test, measure and record in the electronic medical chart the patient's strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory and/or circulatory efficiency;
· Analyze patient's health data and progress, record in electronic medical chart, and modify interventions to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes, including referring to other practitioners if needed;
· Instruct patient in use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes, as well as in-treatment procedures to be continued at home;
· Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote orthopedic health;
· Provide appropriate follow-up care when patient is discharged in collaboration with the PhysicalTherapist.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Provide a variety of massage modality treatments to guests including but not limited to: Signature Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Salt Stone Massage, Sports Massage, Maternity Massage, and more
Set up and closing of the treatment room in preparation for all guest treatments
Cleanliness: Responsible for ensuring the treatment room is clean, tidy, and stocked; supplies and equipment are clean, stocked, and tidy
Provide education and sales recommendations to guests as it relates to treatments, membership, retail products
Document guest profile with treatment/SOAP notes
Adhere to handbook policies and standards
Participate in reoccurring team meetings and training

The Massage Therapist (Female) is responsible for the comfort of guests while performing massage and body treatments according to the standards, protocols and procedures of the Peppermill Resort and Spa Toscana.
Duties:
Analyze and consult on individual preferences and tolerance with guests prior to treatments according to spa guidelines. Be familiar with and able to recommend spa services.
Assist in escorting guests to room and to waiting area for other services.
Perform massage services according to Spa Toscana procedures, protocols, and standards.
Learn proper technical procedures and protocols as specified by the spa manuals.
Comply with state and local regulations for room and sanitation procedures, standards, and safety measures.
Assist as needed with daily maintenance and upkeep of other spa rooms.
Adherence to all departmental and company policies, including but not limited to the attendance and appearance policy and the code of conduct.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Massage Therapy License - Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy
Minimum of 6 months massage in Resorts experience required.
