Job Summary:
Primary function is to provide massage related services to the patient in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patient and family.
Support our patients, community events and attend IDG and Case Conference. Case Conference is weekly and IDG is every two weeks.
Works in patient's homes in various conditions, possible exposure to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule, ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather. Must have Hepatitis profile.
Prolonged standing and walking required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist patients. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to utilize durable medical equipment in the home as needed
Provide massage therapy services.
Provide necessary skills to assist the patient with safe transfers and ambulation per agency policy.
Provide necessary skill to appropriately report changes to clinical care team to ensure continuity of care.
Practice accepted infection control principles. Provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication to patient/family and other employees.
Provide an environment which promotes respect for patient, privacy and property.
Provide skills necessary to assist the patient with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
Promote the agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
Requirements:
Current Massage Therapist License
Knowledge or experience utilizing Homecare Homebase EMR would be a plus
Preferred one year or more experience as a Massage Therapist
Experience in hospice or related healthcare setting preferred

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assists Physical Therapist in determining patient abilities and/or limitations in establishing treatment goals and in planning appropriate physical therapy treatment.
Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, completes documentation of patient status/progress for assigned patients. Reports observation of patient performance to Physical Therapist.
Provides age-related and culturally sensitive delivery of patient care services.
Collaborates with the patient, team members, and area staff during the rehabilitation process to ensure quality care. Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress.
Assists in safe and efficient management and maintenance of the therapy program areas, equipment and supplies. Complies with quality control, safety, infection and emergency procedures consistent with hospital policy.
May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
Minimum Job Requirements
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
One year of direct patient care experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required.
Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:
A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.
Both gross and precise motor functions.
Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
