    Early Medical

Physical therapist job in Austin, TX

We are a dynamic portfolio of companies dedicated to advancing health, wellness, and longevity. Led by #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Dr. Peter Attia, we are redefining modern healthcare with a focus on Medicine 3.0-an approach that blends cutting-edge science with proactive, personalized care. Early Medical is a pioneering practice specializing in longevity and healthspan optimization. We take a rigorous, science-driven, and precision-based approach, utilizing interventions in nutrition, exercise physiology, sleep optimization, and emotional resilience to help patients live longer and better. Early Medical is part of a broader ecosystem of ventures driven by Peter Attia, including The Drive, a widely recognized podcast dedicated to deep-diving into the science of longevity, and Early, a transformative digital health platform designed to guide individuals through their personalized health journey. Our team is a high-caliber, mission-driven group of professionals who are deeply passionate about progressive learning and continuous innovation. We operate with autonomy, collaboration, and intellectual rigor, valuing curiosity and evidence-based decision-making. This role will be based on-site at our Exercise Facility in Austin, TX. We are not just passionate about what we do-we are obsessed with excellence. Our standards are high because our work changes lives. Join us as we introduce Medicine 3.0 to the world. About the Role As an Exercise Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-touch yet scalable virtual coaching experience for patients in our Early Medical practice. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of program design and delivery-you will help build and operationalize a scalable exercise assessment and coaching program under the direction of the Manager of Exercise & Movement and in close partnership with the broader clinical team. Your initial focus will be to deeply understand our current high-touch assessment model and the systems, tools, and workflows that support it. From there, you'll help translate that model into a streamlined virtual experience that retains its clinical precision and patient care quality while becoming more efficient and accessible to a broader audience. This role requires someone who can balance strategic development with hands-on implementation-someone equally comfortable mapping workflows as they are leading a virtual assessment or coaching a client one-on-one. You'll use virtual tools to build training plans within the clinic's exercise framework, interpret client goals and deficiencies, troubleshoot challenges, and collaborate with internal and external experts for complex cases. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is led by a physician to provide comprehensive care. This role serves a discerning clientele who expect exceptional service and expertise. Candidates must demonstrate emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Flexibility, attention to detail, and superlative communication skills are essential. We are looking for candidates with a growth mindset and a long-standing history (personally + professionally) of being recognized by others for their insatiable curiosity and desire to learn. As an Exercise Specialist, you will possess a broad view of exercise and exercise modalities. Throughout your tenure, you'll have structured learning opportunities to expand your knowledge across emerging modalities and coaching methods. What You'll Do Program Development and Scalability Partner with our team to evaluate and understand the current assessment model-understanding its operational workflows, data capture, and patient experience end-to-end. Design and pilot a scalable version of the assessment while preserving clinical accuracy, quality of care, and patient satisfaction. Leverage existing tools and infrastructure (e.g., digital platforms, templates, and clinical workflows) to enhance scalability rather than recreate systems from scratch. Create repeatable processes, documentation, and feedback loops to support ongoing improvement of the scalable assessment model. Program Delivery and Patient Care Deliver individualized health and performance programming through digital tools and remote communication (Zoom, email, messaging platforms, programming app). Guide patients through assessments during onboarding and at regular intervals (bi-annually or as needed). Track progress against health goals (Marginal Decade, Centenarian Decathlon). Provide ongoing accountability, motivation, and education to help patients sustain progress. Summarize analytics and insights for patient reports and clinical review. Facilitate patient scheduling, preparation, and assessments. Collaborate with the broader care team (physicians, health coaches, injury prevention, etc.) to align programming with clinical guidance. Communicate clearly via video, written, and asynchronous messaging, ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Continuous Improvement Contribute feedback and new ideas to help us scale and continually improve our coaching model. Continue professional development in areas like exercise physiology, health coaching methods, and digital engagement strategies. Specialized Experience We Value You'll coach a diverse population of men and women, so experience supporting a wide range of health and training needs is important. While mastery in every area isn't required, breadth across populations and modalities is a plus. General strength and conditioning Exercise physiology Functional mobility systems (PRI, DNS, FRC) Cardiovascular training and recovery methods Adaptations for orthopedic limitations Programming across life stages and hormonal transitions (e.g., menstrual cycle, peri-/post-menopause, andropause) Muscle mass retention during medical or weight management interventions (e.g., GLP-1 inhibitors) Certifications (i.e. PPSC) Relevant Experience and Mindset We emphasize the importance of mindset. Ideal candidates: Have strong collaborative and problem-solving skills Are capable of influencing without formal authority Can balance big-picture planning with detailed execution Are proactive in seeking out solutions Have 5+ years of relevant professional experience Preferably have experience with HIPAA compliance and CRM/EHR systems What We're Looking For We recognize that great candidates may be working across a variety of job titles. We do not have a fixed list of designated qualifications. Although we value the art of continued learning, and demand certain aptitudes for the role, we will consider a broad pool of possible talent. We are actively considering coaching experts drawn from a broad range of previous or current roles: Trainer or Personal Trainer Fitness Coach or Exercise Coach Strength and Conditioning Coach What We Offer 100% employer-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insurance (multi-plan selection available) 100% employer-sponsored basic life insurance 100% employer-sponsored short-term and long-term disability insurance Voluntary employee benefits - including life insurance and AD&D Insurance Employer-sponsored HSA contributions for HDHP medical plans Additional HSA and FSA spending account plans for employees 401k safe harbor match of 5% Competitive holiday schedule and PTO schedule Company-issued technology Compensation Various factors determine a salary range, including external market benchmark data, geographic location, the highest level of completed education, and the years of experience sought/required.
