Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives * PATIENT CARE - Evaluate patient and determine functional treatment goals; Assess patient's functional impairments; delivers physical therapy plan of care to include modalities, therapeutic exercise and manual skills; produce 18 units during each 8 hour shift * PATIENT CARE - Adapt therapy treatment to meet individual patient needs; educate patients about their care using easy to understand information * TRAINING - Conduct training for medical, nursing and ancillary personnel in therapy techniques and objectives; provide clinical direction through mentoring, planning and implementing staff in-service training * SCHEDULING - Coordinate staff and patient schedules; meet patient census guidelines * BUDGET - Assist in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitor expenditures * QUALITY - Implement quality assurance and safety standards consistent with TJC and OSHA regulations pertaining to rehabilitation services * PERFORMANCE IMPROVE - Participate in performance improvement activities and help identify performance improvement criteria * COMMUNICATION - Utilize effective communication and patient/customer relation skills in dealing with patients, visitors, nursing staff, physicians and Hospitals personnel * COMMUNICATION - Conduct staff meetings and one-on-one meetings; discuss operational issues, training competencies, provide feedback on employee satisfaction * ADMINISTRATION - Perform various administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports and correspondence; may participate in a variety of research projects to develop service plans; may propose changes to program policies and procedures * PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols * PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes * PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk * PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner * PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right" Qualifications Education: Essential: * Bachelor's Degree Education specialization: Essential: * Related Discipline Experience: Essential: 2 years directly related experience Nonessential: Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo Credentials: Essential: * CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days * NM PT or Temp OT License; Permanent lic w/in 3 months Physical Conditions: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.     Staff Physical Therapist-Level 1 Department: Clinical Job Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt Reports To: Clinical Director The primary responsibility of the Level 1 Staff PT is to ensure patients receive optimal physical therapy treatment at True Sports to achieve their goals. This includes the effective evaluation and treatment of patients, determining ongoing treatment plans, and completing comprehensive and timely documentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Conduct thorough assessments of athletes' injuries, medical history, and physical condition Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, focusing on restoring function, reducing pain, and preventing further injury Implement a variety of therapeutic techniques, exercises, and modalities to address musculoskeletal issues and promote optimal recovery Work closely with athletes, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize the overall treatment plan Provide education and guidance on injury prevention, exercise techniques, and self-management strategies to clients Monitor and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure progress and achievement of rehabilitation goals Maintain timely, accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes Organize and participate in community marketing outreach events, including schools, clubs, fitness facilities, etc. Maintain and up to date schedule so patients can be scheduled accordingly Maintain a clean and organized workspace and gym throughout the day COMPETENCIES Communication-Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, clearly and concisely Decision Making & Judgment-Makes timely informed decisions that take into account the facts, goals, constraints, and risks Problem Solving-Resolves complicated challenges Accountability & Dependability-Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight Patient Focus-Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the organization Ethics & Integrity-Earns others' trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions Safety Focus-Adheres to all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices Relationship Building-Builds constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect Teamwork-Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables Providing Consultation-Partners with clients to identify and resolve complex or sensitive issues Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) Valid state license to practice Background in strength and conditioning Preferred Certifications: CSCS, PES, ATC, USAW, SCS, OCS, Cert DN PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office and clinical environment.
