  • Staff Physical Therapist

    Universus Physical Therapy

Physical therapist job in Huntington, NY

Physical therapists are overworked and underpaid. They often see too many patients in a day, work long hours, and are constantly pressured to hit their metrics. This can be incredibly frustrating and lead to burnout. We believe that physical therapists should be able to focus on their patients without having to worry about these things. That's why we offer a supportive environment with a manageable patient load so you can focus on providing the best possible care. Hi, I am Dr. Shaden Ghattas, Owner of Universus PT & Wellness. I hope you are okay with me telling you a little about our backstory. After graduating PT school... I worked in a few different settings throughout my career, hospital outpatient, acute Care, High Volume Outpatient. In each of them I found that I was seeing too many patients per day, wasn't able to provide the care that I wanted to give each patient, and wasn't making the impact that I dreamed of when becoming a physical therapist.I remember coming home late, and being so frustrated.Almost to the point where I was wondering if PT was really the career for me.Don't get me wrong I learned a ton during those work experiences, but I wanted to be different and make a difference in people's lives. So, I started my own little "Side Hustle", while working all my other jobs.About 12 years ago, I decided to open my own practice with the goal of providing one-on-one care to my patients and really getting to know them and their goals. I wanted to help my patients get back to the activities they love without pain.Since opening our doors, we have been fortunate enough to grow quickly and have amazing team members. We are now looking for another new full-time physical therapist to join our team.Over the past couple years we have been able to help 1000s of local residents. The key "metrics" we pride ourselves on is not patient volume, number of new patients, or gross revenue.... but our customer satisfaction and staff retention rates. Most of our staff has been with us for 3+ years after hire. And for that we are blessed to have such a great team here at Universus PT & Wellness. We would love to have the opportunity to meet you and see if you might be a good fit for our team. We are looking for a passionate, outgoing, and experienced physical therapist to work with us part time or full time. The ideal candidate must be able to provide one-on-one care to patients and have experience in outpatient orthopedics with an interest in manual therapy, women's health and/or holistic healing. About The Company: We are a small practice east of the Huntington Village and we specialize in helping people who have been frustrated by traditional PT places and want real help in healing their bodies. • Staff Physical Therapist

    Universus Physical Therapy

Physical therapist job in Huntington, NY

Job DescriptionPhysical therapists are overworked and underpaid. In each of them I found that I was seeing too many patients per day, wasn't able to provide the care that I wanted to give each patient, and wasn't making the impact that I dreamed of when becoming a physical therapist. I remember coming home late, and being so frustrated. Almost to the point where I was wondering if PT was really the career for me. Don't get me wrong I learned a ton during those work experiences, but I wanted to be different and make a difference in people's lives. So, I started my own little "Side Hustle", while working all my other jobs. About 12 years ago, I decided to open my own practice with the goal of providing one-on-one care to my patients and really getting to know them and their goals. I wanted to help my patients get back to the activities they love without pain. Since opening our doors, we have been fortunate enough to grow quickly and have amazing team members. We are now looking for another new full-time physical therapist to join our team. Over the past couple years we have been able to help 1000s of local residents. We pride ourselves on uncovering the root cause of someone's pain in order to identify the best possible treatment plan. Vision Statement: To grow Universus Physical Therapy into the Premier Holistic PT and Wellness center on Long Island specializing in orthopedic manual therapy and women's health. Mission Statement: To empower 50,000 people on Long Island over the next 10 years, so that they can break free from a life of fear and dependence and thrive in everything that they do, beyond what they thought was possible. We will do this through holistic physical therapy, curated wellness programming and education. We will help people uncover their bodys deep imbalances in order to become more confident, resilient, and strong in the face of adversity. Core Values: Internal: Pursue GROWTH and Learning Have an IMPACT on peoples lives and the community as a whole Choose FAITH over fear Conduct your dealings with others with LOVE Connect Emotionally Always innovate Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) Be Authentic to your WHY Be Compassionate and Empathetic Be Passionate and Humble Embrace and Drive Change Have FUN- Do not take yourself too seriously External: Create WOW Patient Experiences Person First, Patient Second Anticipate, Adjust and Adapt to the Patient's Needs Go Above and Beyond What is Expected Treat Others the Way You Want to Be Treated or you would want someone to treat your Family Communicate Honestly and Openly (Say what you mean and mean what you say) We offer: Competitive Salary: We prefer our physical therapists not to work multiple jobs to support their living (Unless they want to) to prevent burnout. So we make sure our Base Salary, Bonus Structure, and Benefits Package is reflective to that. Benefits Compensation: Our Benefits Package includes Medical 401k Accrued PTO CEU reimbursement Holiday Pay Structured Mentorship Profit Sharing Flexible Schedule: For those that need a more flexible work schedule we have the ability to create a part-time or full-time position that fits your lifestyle. Ascension planning- for those interested in taking leadership roles within the company Access to Certified Financial planner for budgeting, 401K or other services Time: All Patient Evaluation Sessions are 1-to-1 for 40 Minutes. This allows you to give the patient your full attention, and get your evaluation documentation done in a timely manner. Daily dedicated documentation time to be successful in timely claims submission Weekly patient rounds to discuss cases with your co-workers Monthly in-services to teach one another new techniques or review old material One on one meetings with me to discuss your goals and aspirations within the company or other, as well as to hold you accountable to what we set forth If this sounds like something that you might be interested in, then submit your application and we can set up a call or time to meet.
