Position Summary
The PT - PhysicalTherapist provides direct rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy, BSPT, MSPT, or DPT (2003 or later must have MSPT or DPT)
Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements
Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Essential Functions
Follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients
Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals
Oversee and evaluate care given by PTAs, Rehab Aides, and PT and PTA students
Chart appropriately and timely
Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
Assist in the evacuation of patients
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Duties Responsibilities
The PhysicalTherapist / PT is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes; providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the PhysicalTherapist / PT will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient's capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the PhysicalTherapist / PT must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patient's condition, and educate patients and families in an appropriate physical therapy method.
Develops a plan of care for each physical therapy patient.
Provides skilled physical therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders.
Assesses patient needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions.
Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient.

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a full-time Outpatient PhysicalTherapist to join the Axis Spine Center team in Coeur d'Alene. This role focuses on spine and orthopedic rehab in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
You'll evaluate and treat patients, create individualized care plans, and work closely with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes. Opportunities speaking at community education seminars, support for professional development, and mentorship toward skill development.
Idaho PT license required. New grads welcome!
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Must have current and unrestricted licensure in the state of Idaho or be actively in the application process.
Must have current BLS certification.

Treats patients recovering from accidents, surgery, degenerative or terminal disease
Primary duties include evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic exercises and manual therapy
Collaborates with other rehabilitation professionals including speech therapists
Responsible for maintaining detailed patient records and reporting progress to the care team
Expected to demonstrate professionalism, effective teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills
Participation in continuing education and departmental staff meetings is required
Work attire and dress code according to hospital policy
Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited physical therapy program
Experience working directly with patients in a long-term care or hospital setting
Current PhysicalTherapist state license required if applicable
Current BLS or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Strong documentation and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide age-appropriate care across a variety of patient populations
