Physical therapy nurse job description

*Introduction*

We are seeking per diem registered nurses for a travel nurse opportunity. Candidate will be providing mobile IV therapies at patients location utilizing their personal vehicle.

*Job Duties, Skills, Competence, & Misc*
* Candidate will communicate remotely with company doctors and supervisors.
* Candidate must be moderately tech savvy, customer service oriented, organized, willing to drive, and willing to buy supplies.
* Candidate must be willing to build rapport and correspond with patient once connected by support team.
* Candidate must be skilled in finding veins and establishing IV line in a comfortable manner.
* LVNs and LPNs must have IV certification and will be limited to starting peripheral IV (only).
* We *DO* accept religious exemption for COVID-19 related employment issues

*Requirements*
* Nurse license must be active and must have professional nursing liability insurance because this is a 1099 opportunity with tax incentives.
* Must have personal transportation
* Must be willing to purchase own supplies
* Must be willing to drive 30 miles or less
* Must be flexible with at least 3 days availability a week to see their own return on investment from leads we produce
* Must have a sense of urgency as calls are sudden notice
* *Must be available on weekends to see immediate return on investment*
* *Must be able to communicate and be RESPONSIVE on chat application*
* *Must be RELIABLE and have RELIABLE transportation*

*Summary*

This is an inside sales position that is commission only and can be very rewarding despite having to buy your own equipment ( you receive 100% tips & travel fees while receiving 50% service fees). We provide the patients requesting for therapy, marketing material to build a personalized referral base, equipment resources for you to source from, and you provide the amazing service within your service area and get paid weekly. You will be compensated on a weekly basis every Monday via direct deposit.

**Job Summary:**

The practice of Physical Therapy shall include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, education, communication and demonstration of leadership to address the needs of patients, their families and caregivers as well as to promote and demonstrate a positive working relationship among professionals and ancillary staff. **Essential Functions:**

+ Able to comprehensively assess the functional needs of the patient and sets appropriate goals for each patient. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as needed. Provides reassessment of patient's functional needs and adjusts care plan as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcome.

+ Demonstrates understanding of Medi-Care guidelines and regulations relating to medical necessity, sustained functional improvement, reasonable frequency and duration of treatments and procedures for documentation.

+ Establishes measurable short and long term goals within reasonable time frames. Consistently works to achieve functional goals by selecting appropriate therapeutic methods and shows this progression toward goals in daily documentation. Educates patients, family and caregivers concerning diagnosis, goals and individual home programs.

+ Demonstrates professional, appropriate verbal and written communication skills with patients' treating physician and other associated personnel.

+ Adheres to rules regarding standards of best practice and ethics of regulatory agencies. Complies with current licensure laws and rules related to aides and assistants. Assures that licensure requirements for annual renewal are met in a timely manner.

+ Adheres to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, core values, quality and improvement programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.

+ Maintains patients' medical record, and any other patient related documents, accurately, completely, neatly and confidentially, in a timely manner.

+ Provides direction and leadership to support staff, new hires, students and new graduates.

+ Promotes professional growth and development, personally and throughout the department and organization with educational programs, current research, in-service meetings and workshops.

+ Demonstrates competence in fit and function of assistive and orthotic devices.

+ Stroke Program - Takes an active role in job specific stroke education and training.

+ Performs other duties as assigned to support the department's objectives.

**Minimum Position Requirements:**

**Education:** Coursework/Training - Graduation from accredited physical therapy school.

**Preferred Position Qualifications:**

**Experience:** 2 years experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. However, outstanding new graduates considered.

+ Flexiblity to provide some clerical support to a small outpatient program
