Responsibilities
Clinical lead that ensures that the principles of highest quality and safest levels of care are integrated into all areas of Gotham Health.
Subject matter expert in the full range of quality and safety programs.
Work with the Gotham Health quality and safety team to ensure top performance as measured by HEDIS, CMS, HRSA, Article 28 and other regulatory agencies.
Oversee and drive the culture of quality and safety, compliance, prevention of quality and safety issues and improvement initiatives.
Drive the strategic direction, delivery and oversight of the Internal Process Compliance function.
Responsible for the deliverables of the PI Committee and insuring compliance of all Performance Improvement Metrics.
Provide clinical guidance and leadership for Patient-Centered Medical Home certification.
Directly responsible for day to day needs of the CMO office to address quality and safety, safety and operational needs of Gotham Health.
This position reports to the CMO for Gotham Health.
70% Administrative and 30% Clinical responsibilities.
Qualifications
Board Certification in a medical specialty (Internal or Family Medicine preferred)
MD/DO with 10+ years of clinical experience
5+ years of experience in the area of program development in quality and safety and implementation science, preferred
Quality and Safety Assurance, Regulatory, Operations, and Project Management experience
Knowledge of CQI and PDSA type quality and safety improvement structure
Experience working with community-based providers and knowledge of reimbursement and regulations related to FQHCs and ambulatory care
Experience with the design and development of proactive risk prevention programs, experience within FTCA/FQHC requirements preferred
Experience in quality and safety improvement methodologies such as FMEA, Six Sigma or other similar BOK, preferred
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with Executive leadership

Jacobi, located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The Department of Psychiatry has 89 adult acute inpatient beds, a CPEP, a Consultation-Liaison Service, an Adult Ambulatory Practice, and a Community-Based Assertive Community Treatment Program. Responsibilities
Our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) is a state-of-the-art emergency psychiatry service. The CPEP provides a spectrum of multidisciplinary services designed to meet the needs of our diverse clientele in the most effective and least restrictive manner possible. Our 11,000 square-foot modern service includes separate pediatric and adult waiting areas, patient interview rooms, a patient holding area, and six extended observation beds. The Jacobi CPEP has approximately 700 registrations per month and has an embedded Mobile Crisis Team that makes up to 75 visits per month. Because the Behavioral Healthcare Services Department of Jacobi has large Inpatient, Outpatient and Addiction Services, the patients evaluated in our CPEP are mostly then treated within our continuum of care.
Reporting to the Chairperson, the successful candidate will oversee all clinical and administrative activities within the CPEP, including the delivery of high-quality and effective patient care, continuous performance improvement, community liaison and advocacy and will have an impact on the public health policy of NYC.
Directly and indirectly supervising psychiatrists and psychiatric PA staff
Participating in the management of complex cases in an administrative and consultative role
Coordinating the scheduling of psychiatric and PA coverage
Coordinating the collection and analysis of data integral to quality control
Maintaining a good working relationship with services both within and outside of the department of psychiatry to ensure high-quality care for patients who present to the CPEP
Reviewing and revising guidelines for standards of care to ensure that the CPEP meets or exceeds OMH requirements
Taking a leadership role in hospital and corporation quality improvement measures
Providing leadership in undergraduate medical education, including actively participating in the clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, PA Students, NP Students, and Addiction Fellows
Working collaboratively with the Medical and Pediatric Emergency Departments
Qualifications
Eligible for license in the state of New York
ABMS Board Certified or Board eligible
Graduated from ACGME or AOA approved training program
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ psychiatric ER or CPEP experience

Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $300,000* (board eligible); $315,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $370,000** (board eligible) and $386,500** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:
Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.

Clinical services are primarily provided in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at CHAM, which includes 20 beds for high-acuity patients and 6 beds in an Intermediate Care Unit. The Division Chief will lead a team that includes 11 full-time faculty members, 4 house physicians, and a multidisciplinary staff composed of critical care nurse practitioners and nurses, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nutritionists, social workers, child life specialists, and pharmacists. This team provides continuous in-house coverage for CHAM's PCCU, in the pediatric transport program, and the sedation service. In addition, the PCCU team collaborates in the care of patients with complex heart disease in the 6-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular Care Unit (PCVCU).
The PCCU is one of the largest in the region and supports a busy Pediatric Emergency Department, along with a comprehensive array of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. It serves as a referral center for hospitals throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester, and Hudson Valley. The unit offers advanced and highly specialized services, including mechanical cardiac support such as Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS); extracorporeal liver support using the Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System (MARS); Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP); complex mechanical ventilation modalities; bone marrow and solid organ transplantation-including heart, liver, and kidney-as well as cellular therapies for cancers; and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). More than 1,200 patients are treated annually in CHAM's PCCU.
