Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a per diem Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services-from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults-all designed to keep our community healthy.
The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details:
Provide psychiatric services to children and adolescents in an outpatient psychiatric clinic, behavioral pediatric clinic, and pediatric emergency room setting.
Supervise and teach Residents and Nurse Practitioners.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Current or anticipated within 5-years of hire).
Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
License to practice medicine in the State of New York.
Active DEA License.
Per Diem Rates:
$200 per hour for weekdays*.
$225 per hour for weekends and holidays*.

Maimonides currently seeks a full-time outpatient palliative care physician for our established clinic at Maimonides Cancer Center.
Clinical: Provide outpatient palliative care, manage symptoms, facilitate advance care planning, build patient panel and referral relationships, collaborate with oncology and multidisciplinary teams.
Growth: Opportunities to expand services to non-cancer populations and develop palliative medicine fellowship program.
Academic: Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows; deliver lectures; pursue clinical research; potential SUNY Downstate faculty appointment.
Service: Engage in quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary committees, and clinical protocol development.
We require:
Graduate from an accredited medical school (MD/DO)
Fellowship training in hospice and palliative medicine
BE/BC in related field (internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, etc.) and BE/BC in hospice and palliative medicine. BE physicians are required to pass their boards at the earliest date possible.
Unrestricted New York State medical license and valid DEA license
ACLS/BLS certification
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding teaching ability
Interest in working with a wide range of stakeholders to improve primary palliative care and palliative care access
We prefer:
Experience in outpatient palliative medicine practice
Demonstrated interest in community outreach and program development

The Abdominal Transplant Psychiatrist position follows a collaborative care and imbedded model. The new Psychiatrist shares all the resource of a busy transplant center. This position comes with leadership potential dependent on experience. The clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinical care of transplant patients, donor and new transplant evaluations and consultation to transplant patients when they are admitted to the inpatient service and attendance at Transplant selection meetings.
While the Psychiatrist is imbedded in the Transplant Center, they are very much part of the Consultation Liaison Team and the Department of Psychiatry. As a team we participate in the education and training of many different learners including medical students, Psychiatry and Neurology residents, Consultation Liaison and Addiction Fellows, and Psychology Interns.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to Medical Director of Adult Ambulatory Behavioral Health Services in The Office of Ambulatory Care, and the Directors of Psychiatry at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, the Child & Adolescent Consulting Psychiatrist is responsible for supporting behavioral healthcare in primary care clinics using the Collaborative Care model, an evidence-based, treatment to target model of care that uses systematic monitoring of symptoms and a stepped care approach to treatment of common conditions such as depression and anxiety. The Child & Adolescent Consulting Psychiatrist will be one member of the Collaborative Care team, which includes a Collaborative Care Clinician (social worker) and a primary care physician, at several clinics across Health + Hospitals.
Will rotate amongst different facilities providing Consulting Psychiatry support to primary care teams (e.g. PCPs, Collaborative Care social workers and nurses).
Provide regularly scheduled (weekly) caseload consultation to the Collaborative Care Clinicians (social workers) focused primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under current treatment plan.
Work with Collaborative Care Clinicians to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload. The psychiatrist consultant assists the Collaborative Care Clinicians in prioritizing patients for case review and treatment adjustment by reviewing the patient registry.
Recommend treatment adjustments through the case review process or in ad hoc consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions.
Document treatment recommendations, as needed, in the medical record.
Advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care, supporting treatment in the medical setting until patient can be engaged in specialty care as appropriate.
Be available to provide ad hoc telephone consultation to medical providers for complex patients or challenging patient situations via phone.
Provide some direct evaluation and ongoing treatment support of patients with significant diagnostic or therapeutic challenges who are identified in discussion with the Collaborative Care Clinician and/or primary care provider and document appropriately in the medical record.
Development and delivery of in service training for primary care providers and staff.
Assist primary care clinics on workflow management and practice transformation toward a Collaborative Care model.

We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medical at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. We also offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package including CME. Compensation ranges from 342K to 367K FTE, annualized including on-call coverage and faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year.
