The APP is responsible for obtaining a patient's medical history, ordering and interpreting radiological and medical tests, and implementing a plan of treatment in conjunction with the physician. After sufficient training and experience our APP's work is essentially independent but have immediate access to physician support when needed. What winning looks like: Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls, in an assigned region Provide the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess change to patients' health care needs Perform bedside wound care skills including: wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR Develop a treatment plan for skin and wound conditions based on the individual needs of each patient, and UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines Collaborate virtually with our medical leadership including board certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease Skills required for winning: This fast-paced position requires standing for extended amounts of time Driving!
