Attention all PhysicianAssistants, we are calling you to partner with us as independent contractors providing services to our Military Service members. We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of Nevada on an "as needed basis".
Under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) we provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Support Physical Health Assessments of military personnel.
Review health history, service member medical records, and medical questionnaires.
Interview military personnel to determine current and prior medical concerns.
Identify any concerns that need to be addressed immediately, inclusive of Behavioral Health.
Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member's medical record using a proprietary system.
Requirements
Supervising Physician may required depending on the state requirement
Active PA license in the state
CPR/BLS Certification
Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health - preferred
Experience with mobile medical services - preferred
Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology - preferred
Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily
Able to work extended hours
Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations
Able to travel, with weekend availability - preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer knowledge and skills

Nature and Scope
Nurse practitioners are primary health care providers who practice in ambulatory, acute, emergency room, critical care and long-term care settings. In addition to diagnosing and managing acute episodic and chronic illnesses, nurse practitioners emphasize health promotion and disease prevention. 2. Based on information obtained in the assessment of a person's health, manage the care of selected persons and families common, acute, recurrent or long-term health problem. Management may include:
a. Initiation of a program of treatment for the patient, in conjunction with the supervising physician.
b. Prescribe medications consistent with Nevada prescribing laws and DEA privileges.
c. Evaluation of responses to health problems and programs of treatment
d. Informing a person or family of the status of the patient's health and alternatives for care
e. Evaluation of compliance with a program of treatment agreed upon by the person or family and the nurse practitioner
f. Modification of programs of treatment based on the response of the person or family to treatment

h. Treatment of minor lacerations which do not involve damage to a nerve, tendon or major blood vessel, as applicable.
i. Commencement of care is required to stabilize a patient's condition in an emergency until a physician can be consulted.
3. Any other act if:
a. The nurse practitioner is certified to perform that act by an organization recognized by the Nevada Board of Nursing
b. The performance of the act was taught in a program of education attended by the nurse practitioner
c. The performance of the act was taught in a comprehensive program of instruction successfully completed by the nurse practitioner, which included clinical experience.
d. The act is within the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner.
