Perform direct patient care in the Internal Medicine, Iowa River Landing Clinic, including diagnostic and therapeutic services. Exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clinical care to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
Provide guideline-concordant preventive health services
Obtain accurate medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
Prescribe medications and treatments
Order, follow up, and interpret diagnostic tests
May perform office procedures including the suturing and care of wounds, removal of foreign bodies, ear and eye irrigation, skin biopsy, mole or wart removal, toenail removal, arthrocentesis, incision and drainage of abscesses.
Ensure timely completion of medical records, including progress notes, and updating problem lists and health maintenance records
Ensure timely completion of visit coding and billing
Ensure timely responses to patient and staff questions

Participate in committees within the division, department, College of Medicine and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
