Job Overview We are seeking a Physician Assistant to provide office-based care and see patients independently alongside collaborating physicians and APPs. Our Physician Assistants mostly work within Centers of Excellence built around specific urologic conditions. Office-based procedures can be taught if desired. Most common diagnoses would include: kidney stones, male voiding dysfunction, female voiding dysfunction, elevated PSA/prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, etc. Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate Assess the patient's medical condition by completion of a urological examination Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requested Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient's medical condition Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols Order physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriate Perform procedures in office setting (cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, etc.) as trained Requirements License/Experience/Skills Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program Licensure in the state of Virginia Equal employment opportunity for all is a very important philosophy for our practice.
