Ensure timely completion of medical records, including progress notes, and updating problem lists and health maintenance records
Ensure timely completion of visit coding and billing
Ensure timely responses to patient and staff questions
Instruct and counsel patients regarding behavioral and lifestyle interventions
Refer patients to appropriate specialty and subspecialty physicians as indicated by the patients' problems.
Maintain awareness of health facilities, agencies and resources in order to facilitate the appropriate referral of patients.
Order and interpret EKGs.
Direct other medical personnel and health professionals in the execution of patient care.
Assist with and participate in clinical research and/or trials.
Participate in committees within the division, department, College of Medicine and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
