This is a full time inpatient based position that is responsible for duties at both the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Hospital under the Division of Urology. The primary responsibilities include care of the inpatient population in the form of post-operative patient discharge orders, organizing patient education and coordination of care with outpatient teams including follow up appointments. The candidate will be responsible for inpatient consultations for various urological conditions in coordination with the urology residents and staff. Part of these consultations may include minor procedures depending upon urologic work experience or developed skills. The candidate would be expected to become an expert in the field of urology with a good understanding of the various urologic diseases and management. Veterans are scheduled for appointments at contracted facilities for compensation and pension exams and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume. The compensation and pension exam helps the VA answer questions about Veterans' current health. The practitioners will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication. This is a full time inpatient based position that is responsible for duties at both the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Hospital under the Division of Urology. The primary responsibilities include care of the inpatient population in the form of post-operative patient discharge orders, organizing patient education and coordination of care with outpatient teams including follow up appointments. The candidate will be responsible for inpatient consultations for various urological conditions in coordination with the urology residents and staff. Part of these consultations may include minor procedures depending upon urologic work experience or developed skills. Other responsibilities would include hospital admissions, including orders and coordinating care with other specialties and nursing staff. The candidate would be expected to become an expert in the field of urology with a good understanding of the various urologic diseases and management.
